Bozz
I'm looking at a Hummingbird that's for sale in a nearby city and I'm trying to determine exactly what model it is before spending half a day driving round trip to check it out in person. It's obviously a Bird with a 2014 serial number, it has a Custom Shop label and appears to be a limited run of some kind. No electronics. Does anyone know what non-standard specs it might have? I'm trying to figure out what it's worth to me. Thanks for any comments or input. Dealer lists specs as follows: Top: Sitka Spruce Back and Sides: Mahogany Neck: One piece Mahogany Fretboard: Rosewood/ Mother of Pearl split parallelogram inlays Nut and Saddle: Bone Bracing: X, spruce Nut width: 1-3/4" Scale length: 24-7/8" Bridge: Rosewood Finish: Heritage Cherry Sunburst/ Nitrocellulose Lacquer Logo: Period-correct mother-of-pearl Gibson logo Tuners: Vintage-style gold-plated tuners with green tulip keys Pickguard: Three-point pickguard with pastoral hummingbird engraving, casted from Kalamazoo's original 1960’s mold and hand-painted in Montana
Lars68
It looks like a Hummingbird True Vintage model, but I don't think they got the Custom Shop decal... Anyone else? What does the label say? Lars
E-minor7
What Lars says Looks like a TV - very tempting, , , definitely worth drivin' for
E-minor7
Gibson : This is not a normal True Vintage Hummingbird so we decided put a decal on the back of the headstock. Buyer : Wow, , , tell me more, , , what's special about it, , ? Gibson : The decal !
sbpark
Email Gibson the serial number and they will send you a spec sheet on it. I did it with my AJ and they replied within a day.
Buc McMaster
The model name is on the sound hole label. Ask the dealer what it says.
fortyearspickn
Yeppers. Except for that pesky decal - it looks identical to my H'Bird TV. Except, of course for the fact that no 2 sunbursts are the same. Mine's nicer!
Bozz
It turned out to be a Hummingbird New Vintage and according to Gibson customer service, part of a limited run for Wildwood Guitars, which explains the Custom Shop decal. Not much different than a TV from what I can tell.
Slinky1
Is that correct on the scale length? (247/8)
Bozz
Thats what the dealer says. But I imagine the scale length is probably 24 3/4 and the nut width is 1.725.
