GibsonByBirth
They are great guitars and can be found for under $500. But they are not LP's. After I got my 1st Les Paul, These didn't get played much. I had the viper since 1978. It survived a roll over crash with me in a pick up truck. It was in the back in a hard shell case. LPguitarman
I had a BC Rich Warlock (Import). Before that it was a Gibson Goldtop Deluxe LP (Sold it), Before that it was an Electra Omega (Traded for the Goldtop), Before that it was a Grandpa Pidgeon's special. rocketman
I've always been a Gibson guy. My first electric is a Gibson Sonex-180 Custom, which I still own.

ledzep59
I started on my dad's 1970's Yamaha classical. It doesn't really sound too hot, but I appreciate the age and nostalgic feelings that it brings to me. I remember wanting to play an electric guitar so badly, and all I had was some crummy classical. I eventually got a nice blue MIM Strat.

Riverside
Got no pics, but learned about guitar from a cheap (prolly from Sears) nylon-string acoustic. Sometimes I miss that wide, flat neck. And those huge triangle Fender picks.
