Kolera
This one http://forums.gibson.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=23099 ... and youtube'd his record "Pride and Glory". Just ordered it. I also fell for & over this song, apparantly a tribute to Dimebag Darrel who was shot dead whilst on stage. Mostly I fell for the feelings put into the intro though for most people it probably won't sound like anything else but shredding. Can you hear it? Kolera
Also the guitar he's playing is supposedly a gift from Dimebag to Zakk...
Californiaman
Yes, that was excellent. It's worth noting that not too many guitarists can bring it like Zakk can or the way Dimebag did. Ferocious!
Kolera
No matter what you think about the guy and his music, you'll have to admit that he's got something... I also like the Hendrix thingy during the solo... #-o/

NeoConMan
It's worth noting that not too many guitarists can bring it like Zakk can First time I saw him was with P&G. Ferocious indeed. That guy was built and I was worried he was gonna snap the neck off that LP Custom. Quite a change from the scrawny/dainty little guitar players we usually see - tiny hands and arms..... We got in the club when the door opened and camped out at the stage in front of his Marshall. That's about as close as I really ever wanna be to mad man for two hours... I actually pulled a pick off the bottom of his guitar while he was playing - still got it. Stupid? Yeah' date=' I worried I might get a boot in the face so I went between the two mic stands and grabbed it. He never looked down. Funny thing - buddy of mine - we decided to take earplugs and be responsible adults. Since we were maybe 10 feet out from his Marshalls at floor level, we nodded in agreement that it was a good idea when the first song started. When the opening riff for [b']Harvester of Pain started I changed my mind. Fxck it!!! Threw the ear plugs on the floor and ROCKED OUT! Ears rang for three days, probably suffered some permanent loss that night.
Kolera
Yeah, I have a problem with large crowds, but I could probably survive a concert with him.
Laney1566
My Sister presented me with birthday gift one year. A brand new copy of "No rest for the Wicked". I was in awe when I heard Miricle Man and have been ever since.

Riffster
Actually I find it interesting altogether that Zakk can write such emotional songs, there are a couple of slower songs in the Pride & Glory album that are just great.

NeoConMan
Oh, man.... You gotta delete that sh!t.... Every song on it has something to offer, but check out these four rockers from that album; Losin' Your Mind - Zakk on banjo! Troubled Wine - Drop D coolness... Toe'n The Line - this one will rip your face off from the first massive chord. Harvester Of Pain - probably my favorite Les Paul/Marshall therapy song when I wanna shake the house. Cry Me A River is about as Country/Southern Rock as you can imagine with pedal steel and all... Then a smokin' fxckin' rippin' guitar solo in the middle of the song. Funny as hell!!! Hate Your Guts will have you laughing hard enough to accidentally blow snot out your nose. NeoConMan
Guess we were adding YouTube links at the same time Kolera! Anyhow, listen carefully to the vocal ad-libs in the songs. Some funny sh!t there too. This was HIS album front to back. He was having a blast in the studio with his buddies and recording whatever the hell he wanted. What a luxury that would be after working for Ozzy 24/7 for 5 years, eh?
Kolera
Yeah, I edited mine to some classics... To bad the sound sucks.
Duende
I thought it was written prior to Dime's death and then when the tragedy occurred dedicated to him and the video made with that in mind:-k Either way a fitting Tribute. The solo is great and always makes me smile, as it is a little over the top for the song, but that is Zakk's way and hats off to him! Losing Your Mind!!! That is my lucky song when I am playing pool at my local ;) Matt
Kolera
You're right. Just read somewhere that it was written before he got killed but he felt the lyrics matched the situation, so he dedicated it to Dimebag.
Lowdown
I got a copy of Pride & Glory when it first came out after being a fan since he joined Ozzy. It is and will forever be a classic album in my collection.Period. Fast forward and he is now nothing but a cartoon. Sad. merchandise coming outta his back side to almost rival KISS(maybe a BLS coffin will be next, who knows). Sad. Shoulda stuck to what he was good at. Great soulful, passionate singing(no roaring like a constipated elephant),songs, playing and music. I was his biggest fan.But he lost me after Sonic Brew. I'd be amazed if even he knew who he was anymore. All good things come to an end I guess. But it sure would be great to hear him go back to his roots and do some more southern rock. Kolera
I don't know much about Zakk since I've mostly just ignored him over the years. There was always something about him that didn't fit with me. Until I saw the "In This River"-vid that started this thread. Just got the "Pride & Glory"-album a few days ago. It's been playing ever since. I like it. Alot.
