daveinspain
Well I wont have mine for a couple of weeks and I'll probably leave it stock... Unless there is a mod that makes it sound exactly like a Marshall stack...
Mr. Natural
I'd spring for the Champ 600, but I'm waiting for the Marshall Class5. It is, finally, supposed to be available stateside on December 23.

Mr. Natural
I think the Class5 is going to sell for about $400.

Mr. Natural
Really? I would have thought more. Thanks' date=' I can always use another amp[/quote'] Well, don't quote me. Just because I said "about $400", that doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about.
Silenced Fred
I think the Class5 is going to sell for about $400. They are 399, and they are out around here, at least by me, for about a month or two now
Tim Plains
I missed out. I planned on going to NY State next week but the d*cks at GC won't hold one for more than 24 hours and they won't let me use a credit card over the phone 'cause I'm Canadian. What's the f-ing difference where I live if I'm buying something with a Visa?? Oh well, guess I'll just have to use my Marshall stack. :)

Of course, it would be a real shame if the amplifier couldnt handle what you put through it and then you decided that it would be best to pass on the deal and leave.........before the smoke became too thick in the store :-

daveinspain
The ZT looks cool but I prefer the sound and look of the Champ... The ZT sounds distorted on the demos you posted.... How much are they?
daveinspain
I just Googled the ZT, completely different animal. Solid state, no tubes, 200 watts and priced in the $250 range.
djroge1
Dave the internal speaker uses a jack' date=' so all you have to do is unplug it and plug in a cab, the issue is that the output is 4 Ohms.[/quote'] A new output transformer with multiple taps (4, 8, 16 ohms) would fix this. It's not real expensive (depending on brand and size) and it's pretty easy to do. Heyboer trannies are pretty inexpensive and decent sounding. Riffster
True, I already added one to the head I made, did not use a Heyboer though. The only thing that gets tricky is that the negative feedback resistor is connected right there at the output.
