Thin_Lizzy
Wow, that Gary Moore guitaring is amazing. Probably the best I've seen him do. For me it was Santana - Europa.
DAS44
Lonesome Suzie (Alternate Take) - The Band, always does it for me. Music From Big Pink is an amazing album.

NeoConMan
Don Felder - what an underrated guitarist! Damn straight! Excellent book too. AJ brought up Alison Krauss' date=' I still haven't gotten the album with Plant. Dammit... She did one that always moves me - [b']Let Me Touch You For Awhile. Going country (which I seldom do) is Garth Brooks with The Dance. But the most recent tear-jerking discovery I made was in this very forum with these guys; Warren Haynes and his Gov't Mule with Beautifully Broken. This version of the song actually begins with something different. When I first heard the chords, then the lyrics, it was so damned familiar but I couldn't place it.... See how long before it finally clicks with you.

Very sparse feel to the production but the vocals from both of them are fantastic. Vintage Plant with lots of "oohs", "aahs" and "Oh yeahs". AK has the sweetest voice around. As for Don Felder, you just have to watch "Hell Freezes Over" to see how good he is. I had no real idea until I saw that dvd.
NeoConMan
That's the last dvd I'll watch of theirs. The unceremonious dumping of Felder triggered my boycott mechanism. In a moment of curiosity, I bought Long Road Out Of Eden because it was only $11 at Wal-Mart. I never finished listening to it. I thought it was that mellow, contrived and stupefyingly "pleasant"... cookieman15061
Yeah Joe Walsh is good but Don was the fire in the belly of that bird.

Felder was, as ever, keepin' on. The man's a maestro.
pippy
Without a doubt this is the most harrowing song I've ever heard. "The band played 'Waltzing Matilda' " I first heard it in my late-teens when I was 'discovering' folk music and it still reduces me to the verge of tears to this day. This is the version (and album) I bought. June Tabor.
