Witmer
D'addario EXL110's - for the same reasons KSDaddy gives. Tried martins and gibsons, and I thought both sounded better when new, but as soon as they broke in, they both sounded a lot worse - the D'addaros are a lot more consistent. Tman
Thomastik-Infeld Power-Brights 10s. By far the best and longest lasting I have ever used.

Thundergod
I used to use ernie ball strings only, but for the last 3 months I've been using daddario's on my #1 (the rest of them will still use ernie balls) Now I'm not using a normal set, I'm using the 1st string of a normal 9 set with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th strings of a flatwound set. They are installed this way: 1st - #1 from 09 set 2nd - #1 from flatwound set 3rd - #2 from flatwound set 4th - #3 from flatwound set 5th - #4 from flatwound set 6th - #5 from flatwound set And it's fantastic. milod
TG..... What's the gauge on those flatwounds... I think that looks like a very good idea... m
Thundergod
It's an 11 set from daddario, most confortable thing I've ever played, I used to hate flatwounds because of how stiff they were, this proved to be the perfect solution. I'm using these: Flatwounds

SweetMarie
Daddario EXL 110s on my electrics - great strings and less than 4 bucks a set in the 10 pack. Martin SP Phosphor Bronze Lights (.12-.54) on the steel 6 string acoustics Savarez (blue card) on the old Suzuki classical Daddario E38(I think .10-.47s) on the new Guild GAD JF30-

jmoore5000
I think I might try some of the strings you guys are fond of. Unfortunately the local music store doesn't carry some of the brands listed (DR, Dovetails) I've been dying to try DRs but I think I'll stick with my dunlops and EB's for now. Thanks to all who posted!

duane v
That's a good question...... I know for sure my melody maker has .010's, the Casino has flat-wound .010's, and all others have .009's. But since I don't change my strings, I have no idea what brand they are. I should start asking my Luthier, but since I only change my strings every year, I just forget about asking[blush]
