New Casino...everything loose

I love the guitar but everything was loose...pot nuts, selector switch, pick guard, pickup covers, etc. the whole thing buzzed when I tried it out. If it wasn;t for the info on this site I wouldn't have bought it. Do they even check the intonation at the factory?

Do they even check the intonation at the factory?

Everyone I ever saw came out of the factory to a general or "optimal" setting. Yea right.

Sometimes they even get lucky. Just consider a set up and a new set of strings after you buy any new guitar as normal.

As far as the buzzing:

If I liked the guitar that much, I would tell the manager about it. I would tell him to have everything tightened up....

Give me a call and after you do, and I will come back and take a look at it.

If it wasn't right after that, or if I just didn't want it........walk away.

If they sell it to someone else....oh well, wasn't ment to be.

There are more guitars out there than you can play in 10 life times.

I'm sure you'll find one you like.

I expect perfection I guess. I've been building guitars for about 20... years. I expect to adjust the rod etc...but a little closer would have been nice. Last two guitars came out of the back of the shop in the original packaging, so that's a bonus, I am the only one to play them. Thanks for the my space link...it's inspiring, I'm a father of three boys.

Thanks Lineman. My oldest son is the rapper and wrote that after I was sick in the hopital. He has a home studio and asked me to play guitar on it. I hadn't done any recording in about a decade so I was pretty nervous but it came out ok and I suggested the backwards intro and ending solos.

Interesting, I was going to post about the jack on my new Sheri being loose.

Simple enough to fix except for one thing, how the he|| do I keep the thing from rotating and ripping the wires off as I tighten the nut?

Thanks,

Good, It will save you from having to loosen it all up, to replace it, with GOOD hardware! ;>)

(Just Kidding, well, kinda...a lot of folks here replace the hardware, and pots, switches, etc.)

Sometimes the pickups too, but Epi's P-90's seem to be pretty decent!

NOOOO!!!! it can't be, I tell you!!! Chinese Epiphones are ordained by Buddha, his own bad self, to be absolutely perfect...impossible!!!! Not with thousands of years..OK... maybe not thousands but at least ten or fifteen years of ancient Chinese luthiery art behind them...I don't believe it for a second. Jim Rosenberg wouldn't allow such a thing...send those workers to Tibet to fight in the Chinese army...check intonation? I doubt they even know what a guitar is for...and they probably spit in them if you complain..

No...they just put lead in the paint on childrens toys, and kill our pets with their poison pet food. Other than that they're ok.

Fact is I wouldn't trust the chinese to make kleenex.

I import licorice extract at work for food use from them fuggers and the stuff has more contaminates in it than my garbage.

I tell them to get the metal out of it, they claim to have installed metal detection, I send a guy to China to check...guess what? NO metal detection installed. They are losers and will stop at nothing.

Trust them not. The guitars are probably put together with the worst trash they can find.

And folks used to complain about Korean and Japan guitars.....this chinse stuff is a total joke.

its why i never buy chinese, korean guitars seem to be limitlessly good.

then again, ive always set up my guitars the same, and replaced the pots in all of them. i blame gibson for putting shite electrics in epiphones, because thats the only diffrence between most gibbos and epis i can find.

I tell a lie actually, epiphone have better finishes. look at the silverbursts. the epiphone ones follow the edges of the guitar whereas the gibbo ones only seem to do a small smudge on the guitars ***.

I ripped out everything on my casino when I got it and replaced all the parts. Gibson P90's, new pots/switch, bigsby, new nut, sperziel tuners. It sounds and plays fantastic now. It's name is the "Red Baron". It screams!

I donated the parts to a fellow poster on the epi board who put them in a kick-*** home made guitar he built.

When I bought mine, I was disgusted by the lack of "finishing" on this guitar.

On mine, everything was loose also.

here's a vote: If the guitar was setup in the USA, how many USA players like the string height to be approx 3 feet above the fingerboard? It is incredible that they claim that it is setup, but by who? Who checks these things? Obviously nobody that actually plays a guitar I'll bet
