This is why you never tune a Half-scale mini git to "E"...

Was looking for background on a J. Reynolds Mini-Les Paul

I've had for a few months, ran across this video (shudder...).

I Tune mine to "G", seems to hold quite nicely.

After upgrading Tuners and Pups:

WHY we don't tune mini's to "E":

I couldn't stand to watch it all the way. I hope he knows it is out of tune' date=' that is terrible.[/quote']

I got to one minute and forty eight seconds and decided I was much too old to waste any of my remaining time in this world without getting something of substance in return for the expenditure. I'm certain that the guy here who works at GuiTarget Center is intimately familiar with this kid and his pals. Painful.

dearlpitts - Congrats on going "smoke-free"! I've cut

mine back to 1/3 of a cancer stick at a time, then put it out

until next puff. Dang cigs are ridiculously expensive, and the

less expensive brands are like smoking lawn clippings (yeccchhh).

I look at the mini as a bit of a novelty item, like a double neck

(or more) guitar - You bring it out to play every once in a while

as more of a visual gimmick, and it actually does come in handy

as a "travel guitar". The tuning to "G" requires that you treat it

as a full-size git capo'd at third fret, though. (Of course, perfect size

for young child.)

Does anyone remember the "Chiquita" travel guitars? Another guitar

player I know went to a ZZ Top concert locally, at the end was a drawing

for a Chiquita signed by the band. SOMEHOW, he won the drawing and

went backstage for the photos and autographing of the git. Afterwards, he

played the guitar over the course of the next year or so and wore some of the

signatures off. ZZ Top eventually returned on another tour, so he presented

himself, the guitar, and the photos previously taken to the backstage security

folks, with the request that the band please re-sign the guitar. They did - brought

him backstage, shot the breeze for about 20 mins, then re-autographed it.

Cool of ZZ to do that...

Those mini-guitars are ironically some of THE BIGGEST pieces of sh!t I've ever seen/heard. Their really a waste of materials/production time' date=' because they look, sound, and feel like CRAP! No matter what you do to them!#-o

FAIL![confused

Somebody had to say it![cool]

I guess you're against the ADGP- the Association of Dwarf Guitar Players (also known as the ALPG, or Association of Little Person Guitarists)

My friend has a maestro brand "V" mini guitar. Other than being a wall ornament, that thing is the soul of my creative spirit when Im over there and drunk. Ive made ballads and rock songs on that thing. His video camera says so. I usually dont remember. He says i tend to do my robert plant voice with my own background choir of axl rose wannabe's....

Im glad those clips dont surface on the tube.

And one of these days that V is gonna be put to a wood chipper.
