Are these fake Epiphones?

The fact that 3 out of the 4 do not accept returns would end the decision process for me.

Only the first one accepts returns. Hard to tell by the pics, but looks legit.

If you can't send it back, why even consider buying it? That's just my line of thinking.

the EE on the last one looks kind of big? hmm any stores by you sell epi's or craige list? ebay you take gamble.

I agree with Ken361; BTW the EE on my Quingdao, China Les Paul Standard from 2007 are the same size (font) as

the rest of the serial number. Good luck in your quest.

I'm in the process of buying an Epi right now and I really need someone to verify if these are legit' date=' I really like the look of the Vintage sunburst one but if its a fake the others will do as well. So here it goes:

1. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GIBSON-EPIPHONE-LES-PAUL-CUSTOM-ELECTRIC-GUITAR_W0QQitemZ220572458877QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV?hash=item335b249f7d

2. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Epiphone-Custom-Les-Paul-Electric-Guitar-VS_W0QQitemZ250605538779QQihZ015QQcategoryZ33037QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Les-Paul-White-Alpine-Electric-Guitar-Gator-Case_W0QQitemZ220579681489QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV?hash=item335b92d4d1

4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINT-Epiphone-Les-Paul-Custom-Tuxedo_W0QQitemZ330418115027QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV?hash=item4cee7451d3

So, are they fake, not fake? Please tell me because I'm not good when it comes to things like this[/quote']

1. Yes, without a shadow of a doubt. Scratch plate screw in wrong position, Epi logo on headstock crooked, EE too big on reverse of headstock. 100% fake.

2. Yes, absolutely. Scratch plate screw again in wrong position. A fake.

3. Photo isn't good enough to tell. I would ask for clearer picture of the headstock, and also a picture of the back of the headstock including the serial number.

4. Yes, fake as it gets. Scratch plate screw wrong AGAIN, also headstock diamond logo crooked, EE is too large on the back of the headstock (should be the same size as the numbers following it) and volume knobs are not positioned correctly. Chinese Epiphones sent to the UK market are also not inspected in the USA and therefore should not ever carry an "inspected in USA" sticker. Why would Epiphone send a Les Paul from China to the US just to then have someone look at it, whack a sticker on, and then ship again another 5000kms to the UK? Answer - they don't.

Ok' date=' I asked the seller of the 3rd one for a closeup of the head and one closeup of the body, he also told me that the serial is U04081957. He says the pics should be up soon.[/quote']

If the serial starts with a U that's Unsung plant in Korea. Unlikely to be a fake, most fakes claim to be from the Qingdao plant (EE) in China, and some just make up a random letter combination on the front. Jury's out until I see the pics though, including a PICTURE of the serial.

#2 & #4 have the rediculously thick nut necessary to compensate for an incorrect headstock angle.

#1 & #3 i'm not sure about...........

as for the "pickguard screw" not being just right, i've seen a handfull of new Gibson LPs (@ Guitar Center, an authorized dealer) with the side screw actually in the binding, and the top screw leaving a visible gap between the guard and p'up ring.

buy from a REPUTABLE seller, OR get a longterm permanent address and return guarantee.

It's the screw in the middle of the pickguard. This screw seems to be closer to the edge of the pickguard on counterfeit guitars as seen here:
