I like the blue, too.

How much does it weigh?

Which are the two volume knobs (hopefully closest to the hand)

How do they sound?

Yes, I've got GAS.

It looks like it has the neck access advantage of the SG but due to the strap lock on the upper horn, without the neck heavy disadvantage of the SG.

Notes ?

It varies, I tried out a couple '66 reissues and a couple of these guys, and these guys were lighter. They both weigh about as much or less than my Casino.

The layout is, left to right from the player's perspective: Neck Vol - Neck Tone - Jack - Bridge Vol - Bridge Tone. Not bad, just strange.

With humbuckers it sounds very close to an SG but plays a lot better. The balance is much more even, no SG neck heaviness. The stock hums are awful, though...if I ever got that I would have to upgrade to Mean 90s or something. The '66 with the mini-hums sounds much, much better...much more what I'd expect a guitar that light and cool to sound.

The setup was awful on all the ones I tried. One was walking out the door when I got to the shop, and that one was a lot of fun to play. Beyond that one, everything was just really really shoddy setup. The stock tuners are really bad, and the nut binds worse than any stock Epi nut I've come across. Those problems were consistent through the four that I played. Very disappointed.

I had some pretty serious GAS for one of these, but I think I'm going to hold off and save up for the Gibson to back up my Casino. Unless I can find an LP Special or LP Doublecut Faded w P90s used somewhere....never really loved SGs.

The Wilshire would KILL the LP Jr if they worked on it and improved the quality. I could see myself picking up a Pelham Blue with creme soapbars if they ever offered it. With better tuners and a far better nut, that is.
