Versatile
Personal choice.... I played the Epi LP3 and was disappointed, would need pickup upgrade to sound anything decent The Fender spec on the other hand looks very nice Play before you buy if possible Or like I always do.... Get Them Both
BillyGibson
The Black Beauty is so much more beautifer, 'er prettier. Head over to the TDPRI forum for info on the Hwy 1. If I recall, people didn't like the wiring in those for some reason. In any Epi I've owned, I never had a problem with wiring or pickups. My vote - Black Beauty. brianh
I'd rather have the strat, but this is from a guy with more than a dozen Epis so you can ignore as needed.

RobinTheHood
I vote for the strat as well. But I'm not much of an LP guy. So there is that...
charlie brown
Completely different tones, and feel. Try them both out, see which one you like best! American made "Highway one" will have better re-sale value, down the road, most likely. So, that may (or may not) be a factor, as well? brad1
I would keep the Strat as well. Every serious guitarist should have a Strat and a LP.
