r2bflash
can someone tell me how i can stop the neck diving on my sg becouse it is very anoying. SGs are just neck heavy. Get a strap that won't slip or tie some weight to the back end. Or... you could tie a bunch of helium ballons to the tuning machines! \:D/
Dr. Gonzo
The easiest solution I've found is to use a leather strap. The leather naturally grabs your shirt (or skin) so the neck stays in place. I've recently seen a strap that has pockets for small weights on the body end to counter-weight neck heavy guitars. It makes sense, but I don't like adding more weight to what's already hanging off my neck! The leather strap has worked for me for over 30 years now! BoyVader
Can someone tell me why an SG post is in the Les Paul section???
antwhi2001
If it has Grover tuners you can also reduce the problem by replacing with the Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners with the plastic keys. They work just as well but a set of those is much lighter.
Searcy
I covered this a little in a demo I made of my SG.
Dr. Gonzo
Hydrogen would work even better than helium! Just stay away from the pyro! :)
r2bflash
Hydrogen would work even better than helium! Just stay away from the pyro! :) But Helium could help you hit those high notes when you need a little help singing.
flyingarmadillo
Get a leather strap backed with suede. The other alternative would be to move the strap button to the upper horn.
charlie brown
Sorry, but not ALL SG's (Gibson or Epiphone) are neck heavy. Mine isn't, and my bandmates' isn't, either. I've played SG's that are, but I've never purchased one. Waited until I found one that wasn't. As mentioned, a good wide strap, will help, a lot!
