Yep. That's one of the MK series (for designers/engineers Richard Schneider and Michael Kasha). They were highly-engineered, but ultimately not very popular designs. I've never played one, or even seen one in the flesh. The MK 81 is the next-to-the-top model, and cost about the same as the J-200 at the time (mid 70's). They are among the relatively few long-scale Gibson models.

 

I'd love to hear from anyone who has real experience with these, and would love to hear some sound samples.

 

It's hard to place a value on one, since they don't come to market that frequently.

Desperate times call for thinking outside of the box. And they did go off'n the reservation with this populuxe design.

 

Never heard one, so it may be a great sounding guitar.
