Bender 4 Life
in my 6th grade school assembly 3 classmates & I did a fairly passable rendition of "I wanna' hold your hand" (Beatles of course). we were origionally picked for the parts because we had the longest hair in 6th grade, but as it turned out, 3 of us were beginning guitarists, and one was a beginning drumer, so they let us really play, along with the recorded song. martinh
Wow. it's been 38 years or so since I thought of that ...I think my school band opened its first gig at the local youth club with either "Caroline" by Status Quo, or "New York Groove" by Hello, both chart hits in the UK at that time. As the saying goes, "the audience was on its foot." Brings back memories of my nasty japanese gibson copy and vile sounding home made fuzz box played through an amp the size of a matchbox.
