Jagger on an old bird

This is certainly a 60's Bird. Looks like a 1965/66/67 model with the narrow width and rosewood saddle intact. In fact it could be from the second wave of Hummingbirds in the Stones camp. One of those seen on the famous photos from early 70's southern France where exactly this model was up and around.

Is it the same guitar we see in latest concert movie. . .

I remember that as ceramic saddled, but ain't sure.

A long time ago someone here mentioned he has a whole acoustic Gibson collection. Never heard or seen a trace of it, but it could be right. More than 1 that for sure.

When is the picture taken, , , , early 90's. . . . . ?

Haha ha BaNGO PM.

' * ' * ' * '

Nothing better than to see ones old rock stars with their signature guitars. It simply adjusts everything in a healthy way and brings a cruel world back in balance. In fact a bit like seeing EA's empty hook, , , , now occupied with a TV Bird – Yes !

And JC – if you look at that guitar from the right angle it seems to be a Mart.

The others - Taylors, , , , ? (which is his main acoustic inthe Shine a Light movie).

Correct me if I'm wrong on anything I wrote here. . . . . .

Yeah one is a Taylor clearly but the one next to the Taylor is a Gibson not sure if it's a 165 but very sure that it's a gibson .

You are right, it's a Gibson. One of those normally a bit beside my radar. Could it be a 185 EC with some semi moustache bridge. . . .

Found this one. . . . GibsonJ-185EC.jpg

That Bird Mick is playing is a 1968 model. Enlarge the pic and you'll see that the pickguard is the "screwed down" version which only occured during '68.

Bob

You are right - what kept me from '68 was what looks like a narrow width.

My screwed on SJ has the 11/16. Then again we know there's only fluent schemes to follow.

Definitely a second wave Bird -

Looks to me like an A6, I think he has his ring finger lifted up not pressing the string.

He is probably playing an A shuffle - the little finger lifts up and down while holding an A shape with the rest of the fingers - Little Queenie, Carol etc....

Yes, I would have written boogie, but got insecure about the right term in English.

Dada-dada-dada-dada-dada from E to A and back - Maybe A to D.
