brundaddy
Seems to me insane social upheaval is the way. Slavery indirectly brought us Jazz & Blues. Millions killed in WW2 + victory = Rock and Roll. Cold War proxy wars = Heavy Metal, Krautrock, Disco, Punk, New Wave. Nothing since; all rehash. Do we need profound societal upheaval? It's been really stale.

Izzy
I don't know if they're just possitively correlated or if its causative. Maybe that's why music is so important to teens...they're going through an internal war. Internal wars lead to great art.

RaysEpiphone
I always figured it was different (better or just unorthodox) talent or new gear that brought us new musical sounds/styles. How the designer's of such things get there inspiration is some thing else.
zigzag
Could it be due to the way modern music gets to the masses?
Whitmore Willy
I always figured it was different (better or just unorthodox) talent or new gear As to music ...it changes when a new sound is invented....sort of like life. As to life .... the young only know what we've taught them... After that.... It is what they invent and utilize. Life bless them, Willy
