stein
I'm curious how you found a guitar on a rooftop, how it ended up there. Seems to me possibly in the process of being stolen. Could you keep such a guitar?

Golden
Looks good other than the slightly modified neck and bridge pick-up route enlargement. Probably had P-90s in it and used the MM switching. Two leads are still there with the switch.
charlie brown
Melody Maker............. http://www.southhavenguitars.com/1968_gibson_melody_maker_iii_-_mahogany Yep! Could be fun project, and a great little guitar, once completed! CB
marcello87
Thank you guys... what do you think how much a restoration will cost?
Golden
Thank you guys... what do you think how much a restoration will cost? Your welcome. Tough question, perhaps someone else will stop by to help answer that better for you. Aside from the obvious parts missing the issue is labor cost. I can't really tell how the fret work is or the neck and the back of the guitar thus the finish. I don't know if the finish is a re-finish already but I don't think so. Its as CB said above its a very interesting project and its a very cool SG. Keep us in the loop on the guitar and we'll give you whatever on-line support we could. Its difficult to assess the labor-sanding-painting because of the neck and headstock/frets/fret-board. I can't see enough of it real well.
Searcy
Holy crap!! That is an original Melody Maker 3 in great condition in t 1966 to 68. In the original case. Looks like all it needs is some pickups and a pick guard and some tuner bushings and bridge and it will be a $1500 guitar.
Golden
Holy crap!! That is an original Melody Maker 3 It comes back to the serial data base now using MM also. It said it was built 70 - 72. I would check the pots to tie it all in as they probably are 70-72 also.

SG player
You can restore this Melody Maker if the neck is in good condition. I don' t know if it' s easy to find a pickguard but this is a cool project. If this poor guitar is a problem for you I can take it for 200 US$. marcello87
what do you think guys?
charlie brown
Doesn't matter, what WE think. It's what you think, and/or want to do, that's important. As far as pricing goes...see what similar guitars, in like condition, are going (actually selling) for, and price accordingly. CB
