Holiday Hoser
The other day I was at the dollar store picking up stocking stuffers and snacks for a Christmas get together. Out of the corner of my eye I spot a picture of Willie Nelson tucked over in the corner. It's a Christmas book he had written in 2016 about his beginnings in Fort Worth playing in rough bars and honky tonks while scratching out a living as a new husband and dad. It tells the story of an encounter with a legless guy selling paper and pencils on the sidewalk in the snow and Willie's trials trying to strike up a friendship with the old, gruff guitar player. Willie wrote a song about. Wanna hear it? It goes something like this. ""
livemusic
Thanks HH, I would like to read that, will look for it. I like reading a real book a bit before bed each night.

Holiday Hoser
I had heard Dwight Yokum talking about singing late on the down beat like Ricky Nelson and Willie and really didn't know what he meant. Now I do.

Now I do. I didn't know Ricky Nelson did, never noticed that, but Willie has long sung behind the beat.

Murph
Willie is larger than life and my respect for him is on many fronts. I've seen him live a few times, some years ago with the whiskey flowing. Trigger will be the most valuable guitar on the Planet someday.
kwalker201
Willy makes any song sound fantastic. He is such a talented musician on many levels. That steel is so wonderful, I would love to learn the pedal steel. I have trouble with six strings before taking on 10 plus the pedals.
