  1. She's got a vibe.... she is unique...... and talented..... And she plays Gibson acoustic and electric guitars.
  2. The pickup covers are actual 1972 pickup covers I had replated. And the strap buttons are 1980 Gibson posi-lok.
  3. So my Luthier pointed me to a Luthier that would build me a 58 Les Paul body with a 5A quilted maple top and solid one piece mahogany back. My Luthier sent him the neck tenon measurements. $900 and 60 day lead time. So I have the nickel hardware ready to go for a 72 duaneV reissue model. Still wondering why Gibson hasn't done a 72 Gibson LP reissue????? Best pickup covers ever released by Gibson.
  4. I don't know about you guys, but I'm waiting for Gibson Les Paul Standard EVH Signature Series. I'll but that in a hot second.
  5. I have purchased over 18 brand new Gibson over the last 10 years and have never received one like this. My advice is contact Gibson directly about the situation and see what they say.
  6. So why even answer to something like that????? I know every question I get doesn't need a response.
  7. I like Etsy and Reverb...... You find some pretty cool and unique stuff. I don't like selling on Reverb anymore and some of the sellers on Reverb are kinda nasty if you ask them a question to confirm something about an item. And I saw this coming with Sam Ash.... Just can't compete with places like Sweet Water, ZZounds and other stores with the same business model. Still plenty of other places to buy guitar stuff👍
  8. Last night while we were watching the Dodger game I decided to position the ABR1 bridge and somewhat get the nut shaped (still a little more to do to the nut but good enough to position the ABR1). The good news is the neck didn't come flying off with the strings on. And it intonated like a champ with the strings directly over the center of their respective pick up poles. The G saddle measured at 24-7/8. Today drill and tapping the holes for the ABR1 and I can leave it alone for 20 days.
  9. I'm kinda diggin the gown the hospital gave you get to sport.... typically those things are ugly as *!#K. Glad you're moving along, and that was cool of your pal to bring you a geetar to noodle on. Take it slow!!!!
  10. Honestly that is the best approach IMO. I know how to read music in all keys... Bass Clef, Treble Clef, Eflat, C and the famous Concert Bflat..... When it comes to my rocknroll it doesn't give a crap about all that stuff. My crutch is the record button.... especially when I'm controlling the record button. For some reason it takes me about 10-15 extra takes to get used to me hitting the record button when laying down a track. I'm much more efficient when someone else is hitting the record button.
  11. They were getting killed by online retail stores. Their business model hadn't changed much from the 80's..... Hoping people will walk in and buy high dollar items just don't seem to work anymore. The economy is doing okay..... the good news is wages are growing faster than inflation. The problem is the peak inflation of 9% is still dancing around people's brains. Which is strange because I thought most Americans have amnesia these days.
  12. WHOA!!!! holy smokes KS!!!! looks like you're gonna have to give up the ribeye's for filet mignons to cut down on the gristle which I love . Anywhoo take it slow and keep us posted!!!
  13. Well I added three more coats to the back of the body this weekend as I could see the nitro was shrinking into the grain a little. It's now upstairs for three weeks in the hottest spare bedroom. I'm figuring I'm just going to have to live with some shrinkage. And I took some time to clean up and reorganize the garage and my work bench, and in doing so I found some beer pictures my sweeter half had bought that didn't make the cut.... so I hung em.
  14. Wonder if it would work on my gray hair????? I dunno man.... I make a big enough mess on my guitars with product that's not supposed to make a big mess. Never really worried about the pigment of my fretboards. As long they don't have any lacquer on them I'm good to go.
