  1. It certainly is, but having 3 posts it divides the voltage according to where you turn the knob and where the whipper is. A variable resistor just drop the voltage across the whole resistor depending on where it set, but you can vary it. If you only use 2 posts of a pot, the whipper and one of the others its basically just variable resistor. Connect another wire to it an use all three and now is working as a pot. And pots can be linear or audio pots that's another who ordeal off how the turns on the pot affect the output. I think it has to with how its wound inside. I'm just a dumb electrician and know what the military taught me. I'm no EE.
  2. Down the street from where I lived in Virginia we had a place called The Pizza Castle, now its a Cook Out. Great shakes.
  3. That one is my favorite kind of Castle. I was introduced to them in NJ in '81. I have had them in the Detroit area.
  4. I know. I wish you would come back and do it again.
  5. I went to a castle in Switzerland. How did you kiss it if your lips didn't touch it. Like sex, if little DanvillRob didn't make entry you didn't have sex.
  6. Who knows the the new regime under Cesar will do?
  7. You guys and girls in foreign countries have cool castles and stuff, we in the US just have a dumb White House.
  8. It all comes down also to what you have in your guitar. The guitar is an RLC circuit. R - Resistive (Pots), L - Inductive (Pups) and C - Capacitive (Caps). And absolutely frequency affects the caps and inductors in the opposite direction. Its all math and formulas which is hard. I had electrical theory shoved into my brain ages ago by the military.
  9. A pot has 3 posts, a variable resistor has 2. A pot can be used as a variable resistor, but not the other way around.
  10. So a little less nitro and it’s $500 cheaper. Why don’t they do that with every model?
  11. I hate any vinegar, her I like. The Cacalacian’s love that vinegar sauce on bbq. Nasty.
  12. The cool colors keep the magic in. See smoke and the genie is out. Game over. Nothing more to see. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.
  13. I never did the drive. When I was going to Miami or KW, I was going to fix a ship. Killer food in KW if you know where to go. One island up, Stock Island has a place called Hog Fish Grill. I guess the only way to catch these things is spear them. Killer fish sandwiches.
  14. Congrats. Looks killer. Is it the same as a regular HB just less nitro, hopefully at a lesser price. And if Gibson says its Faded its Faded. They made it. Just being a wise _________.
  15. Been to Key West many times. After 2 days there I had enough. I loved going to Miami for Cuban food.
  16. Only been to 3 countries in Europe. Never stationed there. Went with my girlfriend. In the Middle East only to Bahrain and UEA. Sadomy Insane made me go over there with my ship. I was stationed in Puerto Rico and you name an island in the Greater and Lesser Antilles and I have probably been there. Stationed in California and went to Alaska a lot and Mexico a few times. I was stationed in Japan when in the Navy. The USS Midway was still there. The last 10 years I was on shore duty in Virginia going crazy. For 4 years I was on a traveling training and troubleshooting team and traveled the left half of the USA a lot. Mostly the coast and gulf, but when to some rivers when the CG has Construction Tenders. I love traveling. I want to go to Amsterdam right now, and I could care less about the weed there. There is better stuff in the states.
  17. I'm considered stupid in the eyes of most here cause I'm not fan of the guitars this forum supports.
  18. I was stationed on Air Station Barber Point in Hawaii for a year and a half. I was in the USCG then at at the CG's side of the station. I haven't heard the term Brown Shoe in ages.
  19. My dad was a squid. All I know was he was a Radioman, he was on the USS Intrepid and stationed at a base in Libya, that I am sure that is not there anymore. I swore to my dads face I would never join the service. I ate those words but since he died when I was 17 he never knew I served. I joined at 21. I also need to get away from being an idiot and smoking weed all the time and going nowhere fast.
  20. Its when you go up to and cross the Arctic Circle. Not many do, there is a card you get proving you did it. There is one for crossing the Antarctic Circle too. It is called being a Red Nose. When you cross the date line your a Golden Dragon. When you cross the equator your a Shellback. There are Orders Of The Ditch's for going through the Panama and Suez Canals. Its all nautical traditions. There are more too.
  21. Chasin' that tone man, chasin' that tone. But as me and others have been told. Not your guitar, not your money.
  22. Hazing is long gone. I'm sure the Chief's Initiation is now just pick your pronoun, and lets all go out to dinner, and your a Chief.
  23. I have my dad's Blue Nose Card. I'm a Shellback (that day was no fun), but we hit PI a few days later, and a Golden Dragon. I have my cards and Certificates framed. Went through the Panama Canal, too.
