  1. The Dallas Cowboys. Henny Youngman would be be pleased with my one liner. That's all you need to say, no set up. It says it all.
  2. Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar. I did get the Hot Rats Sessions for Xmas. Wow you guys are sleuths. I even sent you a message rct when asking about South Side Johnny and said I like Zappa.
  3. Your prolly right. When I got into them at the age of 11 or 12 all their albums were out and they were broken up by about 7 years.
  4. Get Up And Go Back Home. As a Beatles fan you got it or were enraged with it. I laughed my @ss off watching it. Saw it last year for the first time probably since the 80's. Yoko as a Nazi was priceless. I think it said her father invented WWII in the Mockumentary.
  5. Cool. I was way to young. Born about a month after they played their last concert in SF.
  6. That is okay. J-45's are not mine but for some reason people love em.
  7. Does it have snot green trapezoid inlays? Pics would help.
  8. Come on its fun to push the J-45 guys. So far Leonard McCoy has the quote of the thread. I am a sarcastic bastid. I'm on your side.
  9. Yeah must be rough being Sting. He can go all night and Ozzy can't put two syllables together that are coherent, has to wake up next to that annoying Sharron.
  10. I want to live where tax on somthing $2749 is $51. What is that less than 2 cents tax on every dollar. I'm not math major so I could be wrong.
  11. I've used a fret rocker and a file to take care of high frets. It's easy. First you have to get your neck exactly level with a straight edge, then you have to rock your frets, just like something that's high centered you wiggle it and if the rocker wiggles you got a high fret. If is high then you just have to file it down and you have to just go parallel to the fretboard keeping pressure over that fret until you get it level and move on down the neck. The first time I did it I did it on my D-35 and it took me a second to think if I was actually going to file file my frets on a brand new $3,000 guitar but I did it.
  12. My son plays guitar and my stepson plays guitar one is 20 and one is 22 and I don't even think either one of them are going to get to look at it.
  13. We're Only In It For The Money is my fav '65 - '68 Zappa era, after that Hot Rats, Apostrophe and it could go on.
  14. Rigby yes and She's Leaving Home probably. Is George playing anything on Within You Without You or is it all Indian musicians?
  15. Your right. I saw a brand new one (J-45 Std) the other day in GC it had electronics in it and it was $2799. So yes there not 3k, but close. Not sure how much the price comes down without electronics, $250 maybe not sure.
  16. Alot of Rev. #9 came out of a jam and snipets of stupid nonsensical LSD fueled hysteria, and I think maybe by then John though it was a good life choice to start using Horse. Blackbird. Absolutely one of the greatest songs of all time. I sat for days and days to learn it. The side 2 Abbey Road Medley. On the 50th Ann. Edition, there is a rough mix with Her Majesty where it was intended and the first time I heard it through me, cause I'm not used to it being there. She's Leaving Home, just beautiful. I heard Paul was out in LA and played it for Brian Wilson on the piano or an acetate he had and I think Paul said Brain was scared and knew it would not be long and that the Beach Boys days were numbered. Cause After Pet Sound Brian lost his mind and they were never the same again. Come Together is one of my all time favs. Shoot Me.
  17. I've said statement 1 and 2 many times. Rev #9, if you read one of my post, I called it LSD fueled sh!t.
  18. The 35 I had was a fantastic guitar and do not regret having it or trading it. My 12er is a Martin's J body, same as a 0000.
  19. I think it means he is not going to be bullied out of the forum, and is going to say what he wants about the topic at hand especially if he disagrees. I only have a Liberal Arts degree and I understood it.
  20. Inlaid in stunning abalone pearl and appointed with gold tuners, it's more than a Dreadnought: it's an heirloom. Premium East Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce combined with hand-carved scalloped bracing to produce rich, powerful, complex tone. Also available in Sunburst and Ambertone finish. That's Martin's , not my words. https://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/standard-series/d-41/ Instead of writing it all out, it might just be easier to go to the link. It doesn't sound like my 28 or 35, I had (same tonewood), and of course nothing like an 18.
  21. I know you are not a dread guy, but this thing is all that and 2 bags of chips.
  22. This is like an entire new level. It has the same tone wood as the D-28 and D-35, but has scalloped bracing and is a hot rod. The difference is really noticeable. I could live without the abalone inlay, but that is what steps it up to a 40 series. My only negs are I'm not a fan of gold hardware, and it has Schaller Grand Tune tuners in gold, and I not a fan of pick-guards that are not black. But I'm over that now. Oh and a guitar priced as such comes with plastic pins. So, I'll get an ebony set in a week or so. My D-18 came with ebony ones. I think I am done with acoustics. I am now seriously considering selling the D-28 and D-18. Keeping the 000-28, D-15M (the take anywhere guitar) and the 12'er. The 42's are super nice, but the difference is more abalone on the top and also on the back, the 41 has none on the back, and the 42 has different inlays, and of course about $1200 more. I like the 41 inlays much better. And a 45 is even pimp-y-er, at just under 9k.
  23. Sadly the latter is going to be our future. I'm an American its my right to have my cell phone glued to my head. I guess our parents saw us the same way.
  24. They ain't cheap. Their base price for anything starts at $4500.
  25. I used to loath Gold Tops, now I dig them. That is a Rock and Roll Machine. Pants are tight. That is a damn fancy switch cavity cover.
