  1. We're Only In It For The Money is my fav '65 - '68 Zappa era, after that Hot Rats, Apostrophe and it could go on.
  2. Rigby yes and She's Leaving Home probably. Is George playing anything on Within You Without You or is it all Indian musicians?
  3. Your right. I saw a brand new one (J-45 Std) the other day in GC it had electronics in it and it was $2799. So yes there not 3k, but close. Not sure how much the price comes down without electronics, $250 maybe not sure.
  4. Alot of Rev. #9 came out of a jam and snipets of stupid nonsensical LSD fueled hysteria, and I think maybe by then John though it was a good life choice to start using Horse. Blackbird. Absolutely one of the greatest songs of all time. I sat for days and days to learn it. The side 2 Abbey Road Medley. On the 50th Ann. Edition, there is a rough mix with Her Majesty where it was intended and the first time I heard it through me, cause I'm not used to it being there. She's Leaving Home, just beautiful. I heard Paul was out in LA and played it for Brian Wilson on the piano or an acetate he had and I think Paul said Brain was scared and knew it would not be long and that the Beach Boys days were numbered. Cause After Pet Sound Brian lost his mind and they were never the same again. Come Together is one of my all time favs. Shoot Me.
  5. I've said statement 1 and 2 many times. Rev #9, if you read one of my post, I called it LSD fueled sh!t.
  6. The 35 I had was a fantastic guitar and do not regret having it or trading it. My 12er is a Martin's J body, same as a 0000.
  7. I think it means he is not going to be bullied out of the forum, and is going to say what he wants about the topic at hand especially if he disagrees. I only have a Liberal Arts degree and I understood it.
  8. Inlaid in stunning abalone pearl and appointed with gold tuners, it's more than a Dreadnought: it's an heirloom. Premium East Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce combined with hand-carved scalloped bracing to produce rich, powerful, complex tone. Also available in Sunburst and Ambertone finish. That's Martin's , not my words. https://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/standard-series/d-41/ Instead of writing it all out, it might just be easier to go to the link. It doesn't sound like my 28 or 35, I had (same tonewood), and of course nothing like an 18.
  9. I know you are not a dread guy, but this thing is all that and 2 bags of chips.
  10. This is like an entire new level. It has the same tone wood as the D-28 and D-35, but has scalloped bracing and is a hot rod. The difference is really noticeable. I could live without the abalone inlay, but that is what steps it up to a 40 series. My only negs are I'm not a fan of gold hardware, and it has Schaller Grand Tune tuners in gold, and I not a fan of pick-guards that are not black. But I'm over that now. Oh and a guitar priced as such comes with plastic pins. So, I'll get an ebony set in a week or so. My D-18 came with ebony ones. I think I am done with acoustics. I am now seriously considering selling the D-28 and D-18. Keeping the 000-28, D-15M (the take anywhere guitar) and the 12'er. The 42's are super nice, but the difference is more abalone on the top and also on the back, the 41 has none on the back, and the 42 has different inlays, and of course about $1200 more. I like the 41 inlays much better. And a 45 is even pimp-y-er, at just under 9k.
  11. Sadly the latter is going to be our future. I'm an American its my right to have my cell phone glued to my head. I guess our parents saw us the same way.
  12. They ain't cheap. Their base price for anything starts at $4500.
  13. I used to loath Gold Tops, now I dig them. That is a Rock and Roll Machine. Pants are tight. That is a damn fancy switch cavity cover.
  14. Yeah that Murph guy seems to think J-45 or nothing. Played them and not wowed by them especially for the price. Now I'm prolly gonna start a fight or something. I did own a J-15 and for the price it was decent, but it is what it is, and the one I had you could tell and I understand at that price, Gibson doesn't put the effort into it a J-45 gets. I will say one thing. Martin can not finish a top to save its life. Gibbys are far superior it the burst department as compared to I think the die hard Martin guys say they are called shade tops.
  15. I used to live about 50 miles south of SF and have been to SF half a billion times. If you go there you will have fun. Driving the hills is no joke. Make sure you have an automatic and not a stick shift, if you rent a car. Best sourdough bread on the plant. Its like bagels in NY. They don't compare anywhere else.
  16. Mutha if you want a cowboy hat like a real Stetson with a lot of X's on it be prepared to drop some cash.
  17. Or to hide your hair when lazy and don't feel like combing it. When I wear one its usually the college my wife went to ECU. No one ever heard of the one I graduated from and they have no athletic programs.
  18. I did not post it in the Acoustic side, cause its not a J-45 and I didn't want to get beaten up.
  19. Thanks its getting new strings right now. Gonna set it up before the playoff games tomorrow.
  20. Traded my D-35 and some cash I made off of selling my Guild JF-30 for this. A 2019 Martin D-41. I don't know what to say.
  21. Grand Funk just got to play poker with him. He approved your hat purchase.
  22. I'm not. If they are not your cuppa tea, get it their English, so be it. They were just a little group that got kind of popular. Made some good music and the rest is history. I could have done a favorite Allman Brothers album thread, but I didn't. And the answer is Eat A Peach. The Fillmore one is pretty amazing too. Sadly only got to see them once, and it was when Warren was in the group. I have seen Jack Pearson in Nashville. Sat about 5 feet from him. He tore it up on and Epi V, Mexican Tele and a Gibby SG Special. He played Elizabeth Reed. B0ner. Or we could discuss - What pickups should I buy, What Les Paul is better, How much does my guitar weight, What J-45 should I buy, Does this look infected ect ect?
  23. I needed an interpreter. Thanks for the photo.
  24. I know people slag them and people worship them. I listen to them. The stars and planets aligned for those guys. It was the right time, with the right producer and the right 4 guys who were a damn good group and were willing to push the envelope of what was being done and take advice and listen Sir George. The 5th and 6th Beatle is George Martin and Studio. And Yoko did not break The Beatles up, The Beatles broke The Beatles up. How would you like to spend 8 to 10 years up the @sses of 3 other people constantly day in and day out? And have everyone wanting a piece of you and being their cash cow? To this day I still get a stiffy when I drop the needle and hear the sound of the plane engine and I know that album back to front and back again.
