  1. Chief, No good. Our Grand-daughter has very discerning taste. It's gotta be blue with sparkles. RBSinTo
  2. Chief, Nope. She started her lessons ( which I sponsor and attend) at seven and was playing a half-sized Yamaha acoustic dreadnought. One day her teacher was using a Stratocaster or somesuch, and when she showed interest in it, he traded guitars with her. Of course, then she wanted an electric guitar, so I decided to get her one for Christmas/birthday which fall close together. We visited Cosmo Music which has a huge, very impressive two story high wall-o-guitars, and I asked a sales person to point out the inexpensive, small, electrics suitable for a child. This was when I asked her would she like a Gretsch, Fender, or Gibson ? When she simply replied "A blue one with sparkles", the salesman and I both had a good laugh. Luckily, the Squier came in blue with sparkles, and the salesman was kind enough to squirrel one away for me so I could grab it on Black Friday. Does Gibson make a j-45 in blue with sparkles? Just wondering. RBSinTo
  3. Chief, Your guitar cases remind me or our 12 year-old Grand-daughter's guitar. When I took her to buy an electric guitar, I asked her if perhaps she'd like a Gretsch Country Gentleman, Gibson ES 335, or Gibson Les Paul. She replied, " A blue one with sparkles." So I got her a sparkly blue Squier Mustang, which she has covered in stickers and has been using for the last three years. When you come to Toronto, bring a guitar, and if you'd like, I'll get her to decorate it for you. Whatcha think? RBSinTo
  4. Chief, Or a colour to a blind person. RBSinTo
  5. QM, The problem doesn't lie with the range of variables you describe, but rather with the difficulty of describing sound in words. Hearing is understanding, while verbal descriptions are not. Another two cents. RBSinTo
  6. sparquelito, There once was a guy named Stan, Locked away in a cell in Wuhan, Not allowed a girl, To give him a whirl, He resorted to using his hand. RBSinTo
  7. Chief, As I've said this before, trying to describe any sensory sensation in words is a waste of time. The Gibson "thump" and Gibson "Nectar" are terms that mean exactly nothing, unless the sounds they are trying to describe can actually be heard. RBSinTo
  8. Chief, You poor baby. Only use one hand at a time. Some of us, we few, we lucky, lucky few are two-handed kind of guys. RBSinTo
  9. Being left-handed, I find it easier to perform tasks right-handed than right-handed people do trying to do them left-handed. But having learned from Day One how to play guitar right-handed, what would be the point to trying to re-learn everything to play the opposite way? RBSinTo
  10. Chief, Are you suggesting that I'm suffering from W.N.S. (Weak Nut Syndrome)? Harsh. RBSinTo
  11. Chief, I tried putting a pick between my nuts but it kept falling on the floor. RBSinTo
  12. DanvillRob, I imagine we might agree on the definition of "patriot", but likely differ on those people to whom the term can be applied. Nuff said. RBSinTo
  13. Chief, If you ever play in the nude, you'll be S.O.L. I came equipped with a guitar pick holder. Consists of two parts: Thumb, and Index Finger. Works like a champ. RBSinTo
  14. DanvillRob, Precisely which Canadian patriots are you referring to? RBSinTo
  15. Being a Canadian and therefore a guest here at an American website, it is not my place to comment on the politics being discussed/debated/argued here, and so, out of respect, I keep my opinions to myself. I will say that reading the various opinions and comments posted here has given me some insight about some of the more vocal members, and it is, to say the least, very enlightening. RBSinTo
  16. But you digress....... Yes. I do get songs stuck in my head. Happens all the time, for no particular reason. One day it's a song I'm learning to play, on another it might be something I heard on the radio, and then other times a tune just pops into my head. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that to some small degree, my brain functions at all. RBSinTo
  17. We here in Ontario knew it was nonsense very quickly after it first appeared. On the cover of the Sgt. Pepper album, Paul has a patch on his shoulder that supposedly read OP_ ( sorry, I forget what the last letter was claimed to have been). These three letters were supposed to be a Britsh medical shortform for something like "dead on arrival" or somesuch, therefore "proving" that Paul was dead. In reality, the patch was from the Ontario Provincial Police (known throughout the province as "the OPP"). He likely got it from an officer when they were escorted from the airport into the city on one of their visits. The whole business was just silly. RBSinTo
  18. Sparquelito, My entire family through my maternal grandmother is animal, especially cat lovers. We have three kitties, and our Son's family has four, and two dogs as well. Sadly, our Daughter married a man who is not animal lover, and has an alleged allergy to cats, so she lives without any kitties. However our Son-in-Law did give in about a year ago, and they now have a dog. As for The Lovely Missus Sparquelita, you might remind her that there are medications to combat her alleged allergy. Or offer to help her view nice one-bedroom apartments. RBSinTo
  19. Hope it's not. De-clawing is a terrible thing to do to a cat. I've had them my whole life and never considered doing it to any of them. In our house they can scratch the $hit out of the furniture, and nobody cares. Besides, if the Vader was declawed, how would he finger pick? RBSinTo
  20. Covid restrictions were partially lifted a few days ago,, so played hockey yesterday, and will play again tonight. It was too cold this morning to walk, so instead, I shovelled last night's snowfall from the driveway. Running out of space to put the snow. Anyone here need any? Lemme know. The snow is free. Just pay the shipping. RBSinTo
  21. Our three have no interest in my guitars. However, they have a great interest in my guitar cases. Apparently, open, empty guitar cases make excellent beds for cats. And there's an added benefit to me from the kitties sleeping in them. The case interior acquires an additional layer of fur padding. A win-win. RBSinTo
  22. Chief, Close. $2,960.00 USD. So.....ya gonna pop for it? RBSinTo
  23. Probably should have put this in an Epiphone Forum, but oh well. The Twelfth Fret Music store here in Toronto has this guitar for sale. Sale price is $3,750.00 CDN. For any who are interested, here is the link: https://www.12fret.com/instruments/epiphone-ft27-steel-string-sunburst-1937/ I have no affiliation with either the store or the guitar's owner, and only post this as a courtesy to the members here.
