  1. Well, an ambivalence lies between the lines. One can sense they've had enough, , , of each other too. The glasses are full - or empty. . This in fact can be seen as a great cadeau to Stones.
  2. Yes - and a good player/singer too. Delivered a fair version of Yesterday. D'you remember he began some bar gigs in his later days. We followed them here. .
  3. Puzzles me you don't mention the saddle, which would be 1st priority when adjusting for cleaner intonation. Do you mean saddle when saying bridge. Btw. checked my Birds and they don't have the prob. Even though I sanded the saddles several times over the years. . Have to add I never encountered the theme, EA - the contemporary Gibsons here are very well working. Some of the oldies however had a few issues - but also here'n'there in the low 3 or 5 first frets sector.
  4. Welcome to the upper department, EA - it took some time. Haven't noticed , then again don't visit those heights very often myself. Will be aware though. Well, don't have to tell you working the saddle will be a way of curing this. As Murph knows it's called surgical sanding. Stay in tune Prague
  5. Have a great day in the life yourself. . 1967 ~ 1 of 40 symphonists.
  6. I noticed a quote from a verse in Mrs Robinson spayed on a wall approx 10 years ago. Wow, , , due to the anachronism it was almost like seeing the light.
  7. Enjoy ^ and don't avoid telling us the vinyl-color.
  8. You may be right - The Soup has Angie - she (if not save) lifts the record. It's Only Rock and Roll, , , it didn't have such angel. Him the springing Jack ignited rock'n'roll fuel no Fab-tune could reach - so did that Midnight Rambler. But let's not forget Beatles worked on/from a much bigger tank - most tunes were simply extraordinary good. The best pure masterpieces. In the neighbor's quite messy yard the stones arranged themselves brilliantly. . .
  9. The same here - I'll count Aftermath in though, , , but not (and this may be controversial) Exile on Mainstreet. The free expression there may be some kind of a statement, but there's no real songs. We have a burger-place here called Jagger (it's not after Mick). Still I ask the youngsters behind the desk what the name Jagger awakes them. The answers come on various levels, most of them vague. But some recall there is a singer called that, others say Mick Jagger without really knowing who he is. Few if any mention the band. When my next step adds the clue Rolling Stones, they light a bit up : Arrrrh yes, , my parents have spoken about them or My dad is a big fan. I then tell them he's the frontman of the biggest rock-band on earth, , , yet old. They listen in respect, soon the burger is ready and we part in good vibes. It's a funny little waiting game that has been goin' on for 3 or 4 years. Guess about 10 boys and girls were on the grill so far. .
  10. Perhaps 'better' or more dramatic question : Will the Rolling Stones' music hold up ?! And yes - Hackney Diamonds is a very fine album.
  11. You are right. I tend to believe the Fab-camp when they tell us nothing is left really. But that's by contemporary standards seen through ditto glasses. As mentioned my fear is that these will change over time and that the most peculiar kitsch products could see light of day in the future. Who will manage the cultural heritage and business when the kids are losing it. .
  12. I've read the opposite. That they didn't 'waste' much time on weaker material. But they spaced a lot - I've heard tapes of sessions which were SOOOO far out. .
  13. I'm old enough to have freaked out over this landmark.
  14. I follow that - my 39 years old D-35 sounds terrific.
  15. And thereby you mean individual demos and fx fragments of songs touched collectively while making the albums ? The latter could easily turn into futuristic pieces of music, but the home-tapes would be harder to call Beatles. I'm not sure how George ended up on the comin' track. A horror scenario would be, let's say Dhani and Sean sitting noodling around with collages based on cassette sketches as old men. Sending them out as The Beatle-DNA Project in 2042 πŸ˜– 80 years after the release of Love Me Do. .
  16. Have to add the one above IS the original Texan played upside down - by whom I can't recall. Here it's turned around, which means right, , , which actually means wrong. .
  17. There are reasons to believe we see the same πŸ™‚ So if he wanted to Macca could switch right back to the Yesterday sound from one minute to the next. Are U listening Paul !? Aha, , , a new trend I never heard of, , , yet. Apart from that my bass player did it 30 years ago during a recording - funny enough it was his HΓΆfner violin bass.
  18. Not least due to The Beatles' version of Roll Over Beethoven πŸ˜…
  19. I made the test several times round the local shops. Most muslims don't recognize or seem to know the act. Did taxi drivers too. "Yellow submarine". "Yellow what. . . ?". This is a fairly big all updated European city.
  20. Oooooops, , , that would be unfair, wouldn't it. . But exciting it is. . In this peculiar double-way.
  21. Well, if the logic is that heavier bracing holds back the vibrations due to weight, the term tighter might make sense. The lighter fx scalloped structures free up the board - it loosens. Pretty big difference between the 2 models in your binoculars. But yes, I also recall the PW as rose. The majestic 45 obviously is.
  22. Still my guess would be that the 35 is a bit tighter (like 1/4 un-scalloped) - the HD slightly wider deeper (like light bracing).
  23. πŸ˜…^ I'd like to hear your choice of b-pins. . Thx - sounds really good. Would more than like to try it. Scalloped 5/15 braces like the straight HD, , , as Brians says here, , , before playing some fine test stuff. 1 of 100 made - well, 7 years ago. Perhaps they were continued.
