1964 ES-125 with really low action and flat frets
slimt replied to SimonSays's topic in Gibson Repair and Restoration
Your bridge location is your scale length. Of 24 3/4” Usually parallel with the center tips of the f holes As for flat frets? How many are flat. ? If there divots are deep. Maybe get a luthier to replace those and set up the guitar. Doesn’t cost very much. -
Nothing wrong with a L00. 14 fret. Versatile little guitar. Easy to hang on too. And prices are not high on those. L1 is a 12 fret, Nick lucas is a cool guitar , but priced a little high for a few extra appointments whats your price range? then go from there.

Bighead Todd Bitter sweet. -
Nice. Those are pretty cool.

I dont see any reason for that not to be original. Rules of thumb for Gibson classicals the higher the number the more ornate. look at reverb or gbase to get a value of what they sell for . A library or guitar store for a gruhn guitar pocket book A wealth of info

No truss rod. , no cover, the back of the headstock looks wrong. Actually it all looks wrong.

Process for getting new guitar repaired
slimt replied to J D Williams's topic in Gibson Repair and Restoration
See if you can talk to a gibson dealer and see if they can get the ball rolling for you. maybe work with the dealer. Im not sure where your at. But up here , if the item was bought through a gibson dealer. They have to go through channels to get it moving along. us customers really dont have anyone to talk to at Gibson , Gibson is in the market for mass production and selling there wares . -
Kind of difficult to give a answer without pictures to see what were dealing with. take it to a luthier to get a proper answer to your question. Then you can decide if its worth cleaning up

Serial numbers change over the years. Woods change from one guitar to the next. And label may have not been on every guitar through the years

All Gibsons are Hand made Custom shop guitars. 😬 -
Nice set. I seen a set like yours in Kennewick Washington. Sitting in a display case. It had a nfs tag on both.

The inlay work on his site is pretty cool.

Ya. Its not nice looking at all. I own a few D45s, as they are , there nice guitars. But thats all. That Leach version is ugly. And not sure why its so expensive. Who is Leach any ways?
