  1. You got to remember they were & still are a Business.. Paul was & still is the Businessman…. For all their whining about him I’ve got to believe they’re all pretty grateful now……
  2. It very well may have been.. It was 1969 & it was an old Used Car.. It looked great though! It was fun to drive.. I replaced it with a 65 VW Bug that I ended up totaling one night in Oxen Hill, Md.. It might not have been the Cars fault though! I was wild & crazy when I came back from Nam…
  3. YES! My Grandma grew the Rhubard & Strawberries & her Pie was the best!
  4. Correction, the biggest Band of all time.. I watched it on Disney too.. Great for Beatles aficionados!
  5. I had a yellow Volvo like this.. It was all I could afford when I got out of the Army when I came back from Vietnam. It blew up a few weeks after I bought it.. I rebuilt the Engine.. It last a short while & blew up again! I sold it!
  6. I’m not a 4 door Guy as far as Vintage Cars go.. Strong Pass for me… Maybe a 49 Merc with Suicide doors.. I like some Mustangs, Shelby’s & older Mach 1’s, but a lot are just girls Cars.. Like T Birds… There are lots of Corvettes that are far from slimy or douchy… A 63 Split Window would be fine in my Garage! And many others… Or a 67 with a 454… I’ve had a couple more recent Camaros I liked a lot.. A 79 Camaro I bought for my Wife & a red 88 Z28 Convertible.. Pretty fun Cars.. I had a ‘75 Caprice Classic Convertible for a while that was a fun Palm Springs Cruiser.. Until it got stolen.. Right now I’m stuck on getting a Tri Five Chevy Nomad, a mid 60’s Chevelle SS or GTO….
  7. I bought a new AV65 Jazzmaster & an AV65 Jaguar in the past few years…. My P Bass, Tele’s & Strat I’ve had for a long time..
  8. I used to have a 55 Chevy Bel Air.. Cool Cars.. I’ve had a bunch since then.. That’s my other Addiction! I’m looking for a 55, 56 or Chevy 57 Nomad right now.. What are you looking for? The market is crazy right now!
  9. I know wealthy People who are well balanced, caring, helpful, generous, talented, intelligent, law abiding & God loving. They are also happy & don't have to put on Airs. They don’t have to prove anything.. On the other hand there are many lazy, criminal, perverted, mentally sick people who wouldn’t lift a finger to help another person who aren’t wealthy.. Or even help themselves to a better life..
  10. There’s an Epiphone Ltd Edition for sale… https://reverb.com/item/54941030-epiphone-limited-edition-george-thorogood-white-fang-es-125-ohsc-coa
  11. I believe each model has different versions of Gibson Humbucker Pickups.. Legacy Gibson.com should have more info…
  12. Him & Warren Buffet own property & are pumping Lithium from 8000 ft under The Salton Sea in Palm Springs, Ca. It’s said, they produce about 80% of the USA’s mining of Lithium.. Although, the cost to the Deserts environment is making it Toxic & in the not to distant future unlivable unless something is done to protect the Environment. Gates massive ownership of farmland could be used to build the massive Servers needed for the Cloud.. People do know that the Cloud isn’t really in the Sky.. Don’t they?
  13. Yes they all had D45’s… I couldn’t afford one in 1975 & got a beautiful D-35… I still have it..
  14. I agree with your friend regarding the traditional the generally referred to Lennon Spec & the actual Gibson Lennon Spec J-160E’s… I played 40-50 different J-45 & their brethren. I loved many of them.. Then I played the Bozeman Masterbilt Solid Top J-160E which I bought about 20 years ago.. It checked all the Boxes including being what I think is one the most Premium J Series Slope Shoulder Acoustic Electric Guitars.. Over the past 20 years I’ve played lots of Gibson J-45’s & still would like one. Just waiting for one that moves me as much as this J-160E.. About a month ago I did fall in love with a new Martin HD-28E with L.R. Baggs Anthem Electronics & bought it.. The Beatles, CSN&Y & many other Artist’s whose sound I really like played those too.. I’ve got 3 Casinos including a new USA Casino in the Royal Tan finish. Wonderful Guitars. P90’s are monster Pickups! I also have LP’s & 335 with Humbuckers that are wonderful Guitars.. There are just so many great Guitars & so many Sounds that can be made.. Enjoy!
  15. Geoff Emmerick & Glyn Johns & all those other behind the Scenes Genius’! Yes, I did get lucky with my Solid top J-160E.. I only know one other guy who has one who had a Lennon Spec model but hated it sound & found a guy who wanted it. He then bought the Solid top & loves it! I can get feedback on any just about any Guitar! LOL! But, yes, my J-160E & Casino’s & Gretsch’s can feedback without trying too hard.. I do the feedback thing with my J-160E on “I Feel Fine” purposely! But, I generally don’t have a problem with feedback as long as I’m paying attention to where I’m at, what I’m doing & Dynamics.. But, I’m not playing huge venues… I’ve got a great Gibson Les Paul Special with P90’s that can get a very similar sound to my J-160E plugged in.. I can use that one if I ever make it to the Big Time! LOL!
  16. My Bozeman Masterbilt is Mahogany Back & Sides with Solid Spruce Top. It’s a Ltd FSR Masterbilt from early 2000-2001.. It truly sounds better than any J-160E I’ve ever heard.. Even Johns’ on Beatles records had the sort of dull Plywood sound but Abbey Road Engrs made it sound wonderful. Mine sounds like a top of the line J-45 unplugged.. But plugged in it definitely has the P-90 sound, very Beatle sounding, yet still maintains higher quality Solid Spruce Top sound.. But, still, somehow maintains a great J-45 Sound too.. Love that Guitar! My brother acquired a late 60’s D-28 a few years before I got my ‘75 D-35.. Both Guitars sound so great! Together they are very complementary.. A couple months ago I acquired a new HD-28E with the L.R. Baggs Anthem Electronics.. I would love the right J-45 to round out my Acoustic dreams.. It’s out there.. I’ll keep searching.. You have a wonderful collection of Acoustics. Enjoy! Welcome to the Forum!
  17. When I was learning to play Guitar way back when my teacher was a friend in the Army who was a Blues guy. I was Stationed at Ft. Belvoir in Va. Lots of Blues guys there in those days.. I learned how to play 3 chord progressions. (Bar Chords.) Mostly in the key of E.. A lot of Jimmy Reed & early Stones Covers of American Blues we never heard of that are now considered legends.. I thought The Stones wrote those Songs! I played ok Rhythm but could Sing pretty well. My buddy suggested I get a Harp & a Slide. I did. They came more natural than playing Guitar! So I sang, played harp & some simple Slide.. My buddy was an excellent Guitarist who covered my lack of Guitar skill & we sounded good.. Flash forward many years…. I wanted a Steel Body Dobro & saw a beautiful looking Dean Electric Resonator for not a lot of money & bought it.. It had beautiful engraved Hawaiian Scenes & hula dancers but I didn’t think it sounded great so I returned it.. I still want one & would like to go out & play a bunch.. Thanks for posting this 6 Part Series.. Now I’ve got GAS again!
  18. Why can’t YouTube do something about that! LOL!
  19. After owning a Martin D-35 for 35 years I thought I’d like a Gibson Acoustic as well.. Partly because I was playing in a British Invasion Band & am a Beatles fan.. I am a Rhythm Guitarist/Lead Vocalist. So I thought J-160E. I heard they sounded horrible & other negatives.. So, I decided to go out & play J-45’s & the J-160E.. There were some really good J-45’s & some that were less impressive.. I stumbled upon a new Gibson Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E in 2001. It had that cool Beatles look.. I did need Acoustic Electric for what I was doing. And I liked the convenience of the Volume & Tone knobs where they’re located. I played it with & without Amps. I chose a Vox AC-15. It sounded amazing plugged & unplugged. I went back & tried the 3 best J-45’s.. After comparing I thought the Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E was the best of the Slope Shoulder Gibsons for me. A short time later I was at a friends house & he pulled out his new Correct Spec Lennon J-160E & did his Show & Tell. I was impressed! We decided to play some Songs. He’s a better Guitarist than I. I wanted to play his & he wanted to play mine.. We had a great time… A couple weeks later he called me asking about my Guitar & told me had just sold his on EBay.. I said, Why? He said, it didn’t sound as good as mine.. Truthfully it didn’t. Now, I don’t know why other than it was built at the Bozeman factory & I got lucky.. J-45’s are great but don’t overlook the J-160E’s..
  20. You might want to tell that to the navy..
  21. You could buy a new USA Gibson Les Paul Std & the 70th Anniv. Fender Esquire. And still have about $1200.00 left! Now you got something!
  22. A great USA Gibson Les Paul starts about $2799.00 & you can usually get 16-20% off if you’re a good negotiator… They have 2 great Pickups that can get a Rainbow of amazing Sounds… You can use the remaining $3200.00 for a whole lot of other things..
