  1. This You Tube is an Eye Opener re; Sustain & Tone……. Or maybe just use a Pick… Point is that 99.9% of the Tone, Sustain hyperbole is BS… It’s Hype.. It appears from all the examples given the Pickups & the Amp have more to with it than anything…
  2. This You Tube is an Eye Opener re; Sustain & Tone…….
  3. Zombie you live that close & haven’t been there? I’ve been buying from my same Rep for over 10 years.. Always the best Service, Product & Deal.. Plus an extra 2 year Warranty… I’ve had a Gibson J200 on Order for about 3 months… Still waiting..
  4. Check a few Sites & see what they’re asking.. and what they’re selling for.. You’ll get the Ballpark idea.. Start High or Best Offer… Start high & you can always come down.. Start Low & you can’t go up…
  5. Factory Setup Specs are a guide for average use.. A good starting point. Setup Specs are based on personal preference. For example most Shredders like the Action low & fast. A Slide player most likely will want it higher.. A Rhythm Guitarist most likely wants it somewhere in between… It is totally subjective… If there are Neck issues that is something else.. Is it a new or used Guitar.. If it’s New you may want to Exchange for another.. Or have the Factory repair it under Warranty. If it’s Used “search for a reliable quality Luthier with an excellent reputation”. Not just the Guy at the Store….
  6. Source their content & most likely many Parts are MIC… As for your MacBook…… It has been a World Market since the Vikings…
  7. That’s admirable.. And I don’t disagree.. But, Americans have evolved into the ultimate Consumers… America has let the rest of the World, mainly China, produce an unbelievable percentage of almost everything we consume… What kind of TV do you watch? What kind of Car do you drive? What kind of Cell Phone do you use.. What is the make of the Computer you used to type your Post.. Even if it’s MIUSA is 100% of it’s content MIUSA? Sadly, unlikely……
  8. Yeah, chances are your Clothes & Shoes are made in China. As is your TV’s, Cell Phones, the content in your Cars, even your Furniture.. It’s pretty impossible to avoid since America has literally quit producing most everything & have become the totally obsessed with consumption!
  9. Is there a Chibson version? Probably $1.99! I store my Picks in my Pants Pockets or between the Strings…
  10. If it’s authentic I’d restore it.. I’m not sure but I think you can have a new fretboard installed if you want to keep it as close to authentic as possible. Also, restore or use all USA Fender Parts.. People pay a lot to have relic’d finishes like that… Although, I’d probably refinish to like new if it were mine.. I own a Candy Apple Red USA Fender AV65 Jaguar & think they are great Guitars!
  11. I am left handed.. Growing up I never had access to a left handed Guitar & struggled to learn how to play right handed… A few years ago I thought I try to learn how to play left handed.. It was too much work & decided to keep playing right handed.. For some reason I thought I would probably be better left handed, seeing as I’m left handed. But realized, quickly, that was a fantasy..
  12. I stand corrected… I looked up my Receipt. My new USA Casino Retail was originally $2699.00.. It was the USA Texan that I believe was also $2699.00 when it was first released.. Not the Frontier… My apology to the OP & you other Forum members who brought this to my attention…. Hope I didn’t mess up your NGD too much. Enjoy that beautiful new Frontier!
  13. I need another one like a hole in the head but I got holes in my head! But, yeah, I want another Acoustic & have been looking…. And the Frontier is/was one of them…
  14. No.. They were originally introduced at $2399.00.. I know because I bought the Casino… The Frontier was introduced right after the Casino on the Gibson/Epiphone website at the same Price.. Right after I got my Casino in October 2021 they were increased to $2699.00… The Frontier is quite nice & I’m glad for the OP that he got a good deal on his… I wanted one of these Frontiers. But, at $3999.00 I’m looking at Martin & Guild too…
  15. It’s a beautiful Guitar! But, I think Gibson/Epiphone is getting carried away with a $1600.00 price increase in a couple months? More than a Martin D28 or D35? About the same price as a USA Guild D55E? The Frontier is a beauty. And nothing against that Guitar at all.. I just think Gibson is really taking advantage with their pricing on this one… Great Guitar, no doubt but for $3999.00 there is some very strong competition…
  16. When they were first introduced I remember them being the same price as the new USA Epi Casino’s. $2399.00.. What happened? Now they’re $3999.00???
  17. Sometimes guys just change truss Rod covers…
  18. I’m really liking those! Yours is a Beauty! One of those would be a perfect mate to my new Royal Tan USA Epiphone Casino!
  19. Pedals meaning Distortion, Fuzz, Delay, Compression, Leslie etc…
  20. I play Acoustic Electric Guitars too, part of the time, & play them Electric thru Amps.. I also use a Fairly simple Pedal Board.. With Compresser, Boss Fender 63 Reverb, Boss Delay & Keeley 30MS Double Tracker Pedals.. In various combinations on multiple Acoustic Guitars.. On my Gibson J-160E I do use the Volume & Tone knob to affect the Tones & Volumes for different Songs…
  21. Pedals meaning Distortion, Fuzz, Delay, Compression, Leslie etc… No shame in good Technique… Especially if all you got is the Amp & an Electric Guitar..
  22. Back to the original Thread.. Workin the Knobs is an important part of playing Electric Guitar. Whether you use Pedals or not… Good on Joe for passing that along… Hopefully more Guitar Players will develop this technique.. It really does make you sound better.
  23. If you’re a Singer-Guitar Player it’s important to focus on Dynamics with any Guitar.. That’s the key to a great performance. With or without Mics, Amps & PA’s… A simple technique; play softer when singing & louder when you’re not.. I know it sounds elementary but give it a try. You’ll be surprised..
