  1. When I was a teenager I knew there were really evil people. Just not so many. As for a divorce, going through mine I discovered all those "qualities" you mentioned in most of those employed by Friend Of The Court( MAJOR oxymoron IMHO). Especially the stupid and lazy. And I'd say maybe half spring break revelers are college students. The rest just wasted ****s taking advantage of the situation. Whitefang
  2. Yeah, I know. Me neither. But iffen I ever do, I'll opt for a Florentine. Whitefang
  3. "Grandma's Feather Bed"--John Denver Whitefang
  4. "Havapoo"! Now, THAT'S funny!! I Shih Tzu not! Whitefang
  5. Another "fashion" in guitars in the last 20 years I don't really like are the "cutaways" they give acoustics these days. And I suppose it is a matter of personal preference. I usually prefer a Florentine cutaway over a Venetian. Which is why, when choosing an electric, I might lean toward the "Johnny A". over most other semi-hollows. But the acoustic "cutaways" look kind of uninspired to me. One of the earliest examples I can think of are the ones on some Takamines back about 20 or so years ago. Looks as if someone bumped the clay model up against the side of a table. Others look like jigsaw mishaps. Whitefang
  6. You know, some of them don't care and won't necessarily wait for you to associate with them. Like I said, just looking in their direction can set some of them off. Anyway..... Saw on the news last night that spring break revelers are causing problems in several Florida cities. In Miami Beach there were over 600 arrests of college students getting in fights, vandalizing businesses and a few shootings. There was footage of those clowns jumping on the tops of cars, running screaming down the streets starting fires and all sorts of maniac behavior. Obviously, the kid who attacked Rick Allen wasn't the only moron running loose in Florida that night. Whitefang
  7. "Billy The Mountain"--The Mothers Of Invention Whitefang
  8. Last night I watched a documentary called "The Seven Ages Of Elvis Presley" on my local PBS channel. Interesting except I felt they glossed too much over the incident of his death. Only mentioned he died of a heart attack and showed footage of the mob that gathered on the street in front of Graceland. But did too, allude to many of the dealings Tom Parker made in his "behalf" likely led to the down slide of his career. It even covered the triumphant '68 Singer special, mentioning that Parker wanted it to be a Christmas type special on the order of Perry Como or some such crap. Elvis wasn't interested in doing that. And when Parker found out the producers didn't make it a Christmas special he tried to stop broadcast of it but relented when the producers, who had footage of Elvis singing "Blue Christmas" cut it into the rest of the footage and Parker then gave it his OK. The biggest drawback was the PBS station showed the documentary as part of their pledge drive and interrupted it often with their panhandling. Whitefang
  9. Yeah, I knew(and know) guys like that. Greatest guys you'd ever want to know. But after a few shots or a couple beers they become 1st class a-holes. Hell, I even knew some going back to Jr. high who were like that without needing a drink to get there. Just looking their way set them off. Probably when they got older and started adding booze to the mix they got worse. If they're like the ones who handled my divorce that statement is true. But I'll tell ya........... If that kid happens somehow to hire my ex wife's lawyer to handle his case he probably WILL get off. AND get paid a reward as well! My divorce was final in 1988, and I'm STILL trying to yank the broken piece of the shaft out of my azz! Whitefang
  10. My front and back yards are large by most residential standards. No ditches though. And I have a guy who comes every other week to mow both lawns. No problems like that here. Whitefang
  11. "Pineapple Head"--Crowded House Whitefang
  12. I just finally got to season four of a show called "This Is Us" my daughter loaded onto a flash drive for me. Interesting show with a sometimes frenetic hopping around from present to flashback sequences. Whitefang
  13. The DA and law officials , in this case, would be the same regardless of state. Had he killed Allen rather than just assaulted him bail would have probably been denied. Him being released on bail has nothing to do with him being in Florida. Don't confuse levity with politics. And I also noticed you left out(conveniently?) my bit about not trying him in the court of public opinion. I agree he committed a vile and cowardly crime, but our country's constitution( which does have more than two amendments) offers the right to a fair and speedy trial. AND prohibits "cruel and unusual punishment" regardless how much some sh!twad deserves it. But the collective thought process in this forum seems out of focus when most here skewer the justice system for letting some punk out on bail(which the law might call for) but doesn't indicate disgust with it when there's been story after story about somebody being released from jail after serving 20-35-40+ years of a life sentence when it's finally discovered he didn't really commit the crime he was jailed for. THAT'S the weak link in the justice system if you ask me. But then Kidblast wouldn't want to fix that and give criminals a sense of impunity. Whitefang
  14. "Tiptoe Through The Tulips"--Tiny Tim Whitefang
  15. You're all making assumptions not based on fact. No one has knowledge that the kid will just get a slap on the wrist. The article did state he was in Florida for spring break, so there's the possibility he was supercharged on alcohol and other chemicals(which is reason, not excuse). And possibly a militant anti smoker and seeing the drummer smoking a cigarette went WAY off the deep end. Whatever. And that he 's from Ohio(red state) might also be a clue. I really couldn't say. And apparently, going by some photos of him he's also a jock. And that could also be a clue. Based mostly on the jocks I've known,. But I digress..... However any of you lean, you must at least all agree it's best he's not tried in the court of public opinion. Whitefang
  16. YARDBIRDS? Like..... or..... Or maybe...... OH! I know!! Whitefang
  17. "Three Coins In The Fountain"--Theme song of a movie of the same name composed by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn and covered by many. Whitefang
  18. To each their own. I never saw the sense of non-Irish people wearing green on a day that really means nothing to most non-Irish except the opportunity to drink green colored beer until they're unable to walk or talk straight. The same reason Gringos "celebrate" Cinco de Mayo by guzzling gallons of Corona or Dos Equis. I do remember how back in the "day" we'd make fun of one of my Grandfathers because his birthday was April 1st. Whitefang
  19. I know. We'd at worst just laugh at them and their complaints about us "punks". But I'm at the point where 60 doesn't really seem old to me anymore. I'd at first wonder what that kid was thinking, but it was quickly apparent that thinking never really came into play here. But still, I'd love to hear what reason the guy had for his actions. Whitefang
  20. Today's the day when most non-Irish think the best way to "celebrate" is to cook something that leaves their houses smelling like they all have a pet buffalo that isn't house broken. No wonder the Irish drink a lot. Whitefang
  21. "Love Potion #9"--The Clovers Whitefang
  22. And in need of dry, clean underwear. Whitefang
  23. "These Dreams"--Heart(again). Whitefang
  24. Sure. But my post was in response to an earlier post that alluded to dreadnoughts not being "popular" at the time the artists shown playing them WERE playing them. And I imagine there was a time in his life when James Taylor wore bell bottom jeans, but since 1970 I've only seen him in straight leg jeans or other types of slacks. Whitefang
