  1. At the base of Three Finger Jack in Oregon's Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.
  2. We've been busy, and the season is a bit late this year, but yesterday we got out to one of our favorite spots. It was a beautiful day.
  3. You know you have a nice guitar when people are ogling at it's back. I like the Custom dressed top with the unbound back. Very nice.
  4. I have to agree with this. I don't know what shielding paint looks like but I assume it is obvious. None of my Custom Shop guitars have different looking paint in the control cavities. Maybe some older ones do but not 2018, or as you note above in yours from other recent years. The thing is that lots of people complain about the cost of Gibsons, but then list all the other things they want included.
  5. See that? The collaboration is working already!
  6. I like the "dark back" finish. I wish I had done that for my R7. In fact, I'm thinking about getting a R6 in a candy apple red with a dark back.
  7. Until just recently I've never used Reverb much. I did by some Virtuoso polish there once. But, I did just sell my Tribute T on Reverb and I have one of my Warmoth Tele's for sale as we speak. I don't know much/anything about Etsy.
  8. They made this guitar in '16. And if I'm not mistaken, it did not come from the Custom Shop, it was a USA guitar. I think it looks bada$$. It's called the Les Paul Fort Knox.
  9. That is a beautiful guitar.
  10. Funny coincidence. I've been experimenting Thalia picks recently and I just a phone case a few days ago that I should have soon.
  11. I've tried lots of the Dunlop Jazz III's but not the carbon fiber. I'll have to try one.
  12. No, it's definitely the same shape originally, unless they mislabeled one of them.
  13. I'm not sure what they're made of. I haven't been able to find that on their site. I play 15-20 hours a week I guess. I've just never seen that before with other synthetic picks. I have also been using some wood picks which are interesting, but you expect those to wear faster.
  14. I recently started using Jazz III style picks. I liked it enough that I bought a Blue Chip version. I've been using it now for about 3 months. I just decided to try the XL version, which is supposed to have the exact same tip shape. When I got the new one I was surprised to see how much wear there had been on the older one. This is from their website: These are my two picks: This just surprised me. They are fairly expensive and that seems like a pretty short life span. The thing is they seem fairly hard.
  15. I think it's working. Imgur, that is.
  16. Absolutely not. Nobody should ever use a LP for the blues, clean or otherwise. It would never work, regardless of who may try.
  17. Thanks. That's good information and a nice review. Since you got yours, I've been eyeing them...
  18. I'd like to do some periodic inspections just to verify that
  19. Very nice! I generally don't like the color red, except for LP's for some reason. Looks great!
  20. A closer analogy would be buying a car with a rear deck spoiler installed from the factory, removing it, finding a scratch underneath it, and calling it a defect. The car was meant to have the spoiler on. The same could be said for guitars that come from the factory with the p-g installed.
  21. Well, it just depends. You're not really comparing apples to apples. You're describing glaring flaws visible in the vehicles normal dress. It's not really the same as something that is not. Most people do leave the p-g on so it really doesn't matter. I have mixed feelings about it. I think it's kind of sloppy work and shouldn't happen , but if I had a guitar with that flaw, and it was otherwise good, I'd keep it.
  22. Well, it's only like a feather, not an actual feather. But I can make a few offers and see if I get any takers.
  23. My R0 weighs 8.03 pounds. It's like a feather.
