  1. Eat through the pain. You can do it. Mind over matter.
  2. You hit the nail right on the head there. The two Warmoth's that I built and ended up selling were both really nice guitars. But, I've learned that I'm just really partial to pretty much everything about Gibson's, especially LPs. The feel, sound, look, all of it. I haven't been able to play any of the new original collection LPs but I think they are probably great guitars and worth every penny. I've been tempted to get one but then I ask myself, am I really gonna pick that up instead of my R0??
  3. Actually, M2M prices are very reasonable compared to the equivalent in standard spec, depending on what you are asking for.
  4. I don't know where you're located but Reverb has quite a few brand new LP Customs, both historic and "modern", in the US and abroad. I wouldn't order one unless you want something different than stock specs. Wait times are at least 3 months for a M2M. Good luck.
  5. Hey Chris. Nah, I'm satisfying my single coil desires with a '54 custom and R6 that are in the pipe. The fender'y style things apparently aren't for me!
  6. Just got done packing up my Warmoth Tele that sold last night on Reverb. UPS will be picking it up later today and she'll be off to her new home. Reverb is great.
  7. Why do I hear the Magnum PI theme song in my head? Looks like fun, BTW.
  8. I know that it's always a good idea to play them first but sometimes that's just not practical depending on where you live and what you're looking for. I have never played any of my guitars before purchase. I know a lot of people have had problems but I've never gotten a bad guitar. Some that had setup issues but that's about it.
  9. Thanks. Yeah, I was asking about the combo. It's very interesting. I found several very positive reviews on the tube.
  10. Took the dogs out. Coffee, news. Dogs out for exercise. Washed the dogs. Exercised myself. Lunch. Next, feed the dogs and walk the dogs again. Then, play guitar for the rest of the day. Life is good.
  11. Superstition -Stevie Wonder (Phil X version) Fly by night - Rush
  12. Unless it was a custom order or some sort of limited run, it should have a thicker neck like a '57 or '59. Generally in the range of .9 at the 1st and 1 at the 12th.
  13. Weight relief is guaranteed to make a given piece of wood weigh less. That's about it. They all sound and feel a little different no matter how similar, or even identical, the specs.
  14. Gibson will not issue replacement COAs. I don't know for sure but I would doubt that you'd have to have one in this circumstance. Most guitars don't have COA's at all and I doubt that most Customs agents would know which guitars should have one and which shouldn't. But maybe I'm wrong.
  15. Obviously I have no idea, but if you look at the serial #'s of some that are available online, the highest numbers I see for the series are around 350-ish, but who knows.
  16. I watched. I find stuff like this moderately interesting. I have tried strings from 8's to 11's. I like hybrid slinky's, (9-46) for standard tuning and skinny top heavy bottom (10-52) for a guitar I keep tuned a full step down. For 1/2 step down I don't change the strings. All of that's mostly based on feel rather than tone. I will say that I think the only wrong strings are the one's someone else is using. 😉
  17. I really love the color combo. The dark walnut color with the wood grain against the black plastic and nickle hardware just looks great to me. But, I'm also really liking the feel of it, especially the neck. The MHS I's are good too. The other great thing is that is in near mint condition. No finish issues or fret wear at all. Looks like it sat in the case. And, of course, it came with the case and COA.
  18. Thanks for the comments! She's a beauty for sure. These caught my eye when the came out but I was interested in other things at the time. Recently, I've been eyeing the new 339's and then I found this one. I thought I'd like this one better because it has the MHS I pups, plus I like the walnut color too. It plays great. feels great. It's got more of a '59 kinda neck based on measurements but it really feels just as comfortable as my '60s necks. If I didn't measure it I wouldn't be able to tell. The only think I don't like is the taper on the volume pots. I'll probably change them.
  19. I haven't posted for a while but I thought I'd share some pics of my new (to me) ES-339. It's a 2018 Memphis guitar.
  20. You should probably post some pictures of this horrible example so that we can learn from it lest we all become victims of this hype and fraud know as the Custom Shop.
  21. Nope, just an accidental double post.
  22. Now, this post is very close to a NGD post, in which case pictures would be mandatory.
