    TV?

I get cable from Spectrum that seems to have a monopoly here on the island, but just the base package for network channels. We stream Prime, Netflix, Disney, Hulu and YouTube most of the time. I have been watching shows like The Expanse, Outpost, Hunted, Madam Secretary, Better Call Saul, Elementary and lots of documentaries including lots of WW2 docs. I have a good sized DVD collection of Action/ SiFi with good CGI effects...
  4. I think think the Inspired By Gibson series is both good and bad, the use of the older headstock looks good and all set necks. But the old $199 Epi Les Paul, with a bolt on, usually had a reputation for having a good playing neck, easier to replace at the factory if the neck went bad. The new set neck versions starting at about $350 and up, are having reports of fret buzz, so play before you buy would be a good idea. I hope they reintroduce the original Epiphone designs like the Coronet, Wilshire, Crestwood and Archtops including the original Wildkat. Also really sad for me to see the Epiphone Blueshawk gone...
  5. After having the SR-15 for a few weeks now and being able to use it in different volume situations, I am very pleased with it. Different levels do require a tweaking of the Gain and Tone controls, like running the Gain higher for low volume when using the 1watt setting and maybe a little increased Bass. Overall it seems be pretty easy to get the sound I want at any level. I jammed with friends the other day, while using no external effects and found it worked quite well. How ever, I noticed the thing I missed most was the Delay and Chorus that is built in to my other amps. So I ordered an Analog Delay and Analog Chorus that I intend to run through the Effects loop. Will see how it goes..... I did notice that when playing outdoors it is louder than I expected, I have been running it at about 1/3 of its volume using the 15watt setting.
  6. I have dealt with depression most of my life. I have found that standing right in front of a stack at full volume and playing some power chords blasting my body, but not my head, too much ear damage over the years. Believe it or not I actually do this. Also screaming at the top of my lungs helps...

  8. My last Saturday jam starting up, the AC adaptor for my RK5 wasn't working so I just pushed my Stage Right 15 using my Blueshawk volume control for clean and drive. Anyway I had a great time and was pleased with how easily the amp filled in without all my usual effects.. Just got this image today, so posting is WTH I did today.. 🙂
  9. I didn't realize he started on an SG Special with P90's..

  11. After I retired I found I spent too much time reflecting, my cure has been changing what I was doing and getting active, just doing anything different.
  12. Most of the early Asian built Epiphones information is pretty vague. Japan built the first overseas models without a lot of documentation, a lot of these were not very good but started improving, then Korea, Indonesia and China including Czechoslovakia to name a few. In 2005 Gibson completed the new Epiphone plant in Qingdao China where most the current production is done.. Epiphone History.. More information can be found in the Unofficial Epiphone Wiki...
  13. Epiphone was purchased by Gibson in 1957, but a long relationship prior to that with Les Paul using Epiphone's facilities to build his experimental electric guitars. Gibson has also had Epiphones built in several different countries, they are all Gibson/Epiphones.
  14. I connected all of my amps together in my guitar corner, love the sound of all 8 cooking at once..
  15. The full history of the guitar that defined heavy metal?
  16. Process of elimination.. Figure out what sound you want and start eliminating hardware. Look at what guitarist that get the sound you like and look at their guitars. For me the field is narrow because I have come to using P90 tone machines. I don't even own anything with humbuckings any longer...
  17. Actually your beach is envious, the Big Island I live on has mostly rock cliff faces for coastline with a few nice small beaches in protected coves that are some times difficult to get to. Enjoy have a great time...
