  1. Who's flying the bus? I blew up the mirror and didn't see anybody onboard, anywhere I could make out...
  2. The link doesn't work for me, perhaps the access rights for the /pix/ directory isn't set for sharing.. My Hawks have been my favorite for sound, versatility, ease of playing and hum cancelling. When I realized that my Gibson Blues Hawk needed be upgraded to be able to keep up with the Epiphone Blueshawk, I decided to leave it stock and let it go. It was a sad day.. But I use the Blueshawks as a model for building my guitars.
  3. That thing comes up huge, I had to select Open in New Window then to put it in Full Screen Mode to see it play. I've fallen out of office chairs when I put too much weight on the edge. The lady in the house coat saves the day and the husky is great...
  4. A few years ago a Luthier named Devon Rogers moved to the Big Island, I think from Oregon. He reopened his new Pahoa Hawaii shop in about June, after COVID caused him to to shut down for a while. Anyway, at his shop "Rogers Guitars" Devon uses a new building technique that creates a much lighter stronger guitar, they sound and play excellent. Rogers Guitars on FaceBook....... and custom electrics https://www.facebook.com/RogersGuitars/
  5. Unfortunately for me I picked out my Teisco, I do remember it looking better than those pic's, it was difficult to get in tune. Fortunately a year later I got a Kalamazoo made Wilshire like the one below.
  6. My first electric guitar, a Teisco Del Rey, I bought in 63 I think.. This web image is what I had, I got a 63 Wilshire in 64 that was lightyears away from this one..
  7. Oh my, I didn't know about the Mid Engine debut, I hope Ralph Nader isn't around.
  8. Only the ones that work.... This non-destructive Duesenberg is great with lots of dive bomb range. This guitar was amazing yesterday and the Slick 90's going into a valve amp were killer. It may have been my imagination, but the Slick 90's seem to be a little more sensitive to line noise than my Mean 90's.
  9. Well my Tele was in rare form, it didn't kill my back and it stayed in tune not mention it sounded great through my China valves.
  10. Ok so I have decided to take my heavy Tele with Slick 90's and my light wieght G400 with Mean 90's in case my back goes out... 🙂🤪 Oh yea I will be using my newest amp with Chinese Valves...
  11. Getting ready to go jam, trying to figure which guitar to take..
  12. I was working out Beat It's tag line yesterday and it kept coming out Day Tripper but I'm getting very close.
  13. 1971 my modified Kalamazoo SG Bass and my SVT. 2007 at the Pavilion on the Hilo Bay Front with my LP Special DC and to the left (stage right) my Yellow DC Junior peaking out by my Marshall. 2008 last fling playing Bass at the Okibono Theater in Pahoa.. At present jammin on my Bass players second floor Lanai, with jungle creeping in, playing my Midnight Sapphire Blueshawk.
  14. Yes that is a P-Bass but a Squire and my SG-X below My red SG above was tuned for Drop D. Note that my Bass Player was also an excellent Lead Player as well as Violin and Keyboards.. Our Vocalist/ Tamborine also Played the Drums and Keyboards.. Our Percussionist on the V-Drums also played Acoustic Guitar.. We wrote all of our tunes, individually and later as a group effort..
  15. These are built in Indonesia like the Fender Modern Players and G&L's. My RG421 sells new for 399 but has an almost exact twin the RG562 built at Fugi Gen that sell for around 1500. My G&L ASAT Junior was built in Indonesia. This one used about 1 +1/4" thick blocks of mahogany laminated horizontally for the body, making the wood grain look pretty nice.
  16. Thanks Mr R.... I noticed that with with all the pics I put on this tread I didn't have any showing the back of my NGD Ibanez.
  17. I was walking around outside last night playing my Ibanez and attempted "Ain't Talkin Bout Love", I struggled through to the end then realized I didn't have a tremolo to finish with and said sorry Eddie you will be missed.. He still leaves me dumbfounded....

    NGD

    I I I I I I I I I I I I like it...
  19. I couldn't have said this better..
  20. I like the folded piece of sandpaper approach (sometimes with the string inside using very fine), just get the break angle right and when you fold the sandpaper scratch the grit off the bottom of the fold so you don't dig the notch deeper, just widening. This method should not take very long. Also I think nut sauce is very helpful if you use a tremolo...
  21. Looks like a great guitar, something worthy of NGD.. One thing I really like is the sliding door on the nut plate.. And the way direct sunlight changes the color of mine... Looks like this is becoming an Ibanez rebuild thread.. 🙂
  22. The firs time I heard Eruption I was tubing down the Salt in Az. Both sides of the river were wall to wall trucks for a few miles with KDKB crankin on their radios. I was pretty toasted from the sun, but it sounded incredible.
  23. Another nice guitar to be missed, I have had several Ibanez over the years, they were all good but I don't think I fully appreciated them till they were gone. This one started out as just something to do to save me from boredom, but the way it sounds, its beginning to look like I may have to hold on to it for a while.. 🙂
