Yes, I saw RUS H on Moving Pictures in Oakland w/ FM opening. Then again in Sacramento on the Presto tour. For Presto, I was first row, right in front of Geddy. However, all I could hear was his bass ... no vocals, no guitar, no drums ... as in NONE. For being first row, it was just horrible. I was not even sure what songs they were playing. I did not get back on the Rush live train until 1997's Test For Echo tour, and never missed a tour of theirs thereafter -- sometimes seeing them multiple times on a given tour. Test For Echo was also their first using the "an evening with Rush" format with no opening act, the extended setlists, intermission, etc. It was also their fist tour since Permanent Waves to play 2112 in its entirety.

Gene is using that age-old strategy that people will know it is fake if it looks too good. Think Coverdale. At least, he is smart enough to not use Paul Stanley's wig guy. KISS has the longevity because they wrote some pretty decent lasting music. I have seen them twice back in the late 1990s & early 2000s, and I really enjoyed them. But I will not be catching them in KISStory as I just feel like I am already one KISS documentary over my quota. Similarly, I am going to pass on seeing them live "this one last time". Really, though, everyone should see them live at least once, as they are such a live spectacle like no other. This is unlike the Elton John farewell tour where the emphasis is on 3 hours of just amazing material. My son loves EJ so I took him to that show (pre-Covid, of course); the Elton farewell show was amazing.

Yeah, his bottom picture shows the neck at a crazy angle to the body of the guitar. Clearly, this is a guitar design issue, and not related to the nuances of neck relief. It certainly isn't the height of the bridge pup which can, of course, be adjusted.

I don't think you will have any problems with polish. Just don't use any cleaners or rubbing compounds.

Yeah, I would not be so quick to discount the new "Inspired by Gibson" model. At $800 with no case, they are only cheap when comparing them to Gibsons and other MIA guitars (Martin, etc.). The details of the construction seem correct, and the reviews for them have been stellar. To be clear, though, I do not say the same about the other Epi's, though. I have not played one myself, but I am very intrigued. It would be nice to have a Hummingbird-ish guitar, as there is NO way I would spend $4K on acoustic. LOL

The new Line 6 Spider V is pretty amazing, but all of my experience has been with the the larger "head" context w/ a non-Line 6 cabinet. I know others that are pretty happy with the smaller Line 6 combos, though. I have heard bad things about Black Star support which has made me wary of their gear fwiw.

Just as a suggestion, since price is a thing, then you should at least consider an Epiphone. They make two Hummingbirds: "Studio" and "Inspired by Gibson" versions. I would recommend the higher-tier "Inspired by Gibson" version. Mahogany back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck, no case included, made in Indonesia (pretty sure anyway). It is probably the best Hummingbird for the person who can't afford a Gibson Hummingbird. Just a thought.

With greater than 50% of new guitar buyers these days being female, it is no surprise to see so many female artists in this Gibson video. Check out that last number w/ Bonamassa & Nichols playing the last song "Crossroads" (around the 1:20 mark). Cool stuff.

Yeah, and besides Derringer, at some point Ronnie Montrose was in with Edgar Winter's band too. Myself being a rock guitar player born and raised in the SF Bay Area, I have to give this call out to Ronnie. Besides his "Montrose" stuff with Hagar that most/some people are quite familiar with, there was also a bunch of great non-Hagar Montrose stuff too that was arguable just as good. And then, of course, post-Montrose there was his band Gamma in the 1980s ... one of my favorite bands of all time. Outside of the Bay Area, Gamma was pretty much completely overlooked across the board ... which is a complete crime in my eyes, as they were sooooo good. (Sorry for the diversion; I couldn't help myself)

Yes, another vet here too (ex-nuke sub officer). And for some forum members with Gibsons, often the number of Gibsons one has are overshadowed by a much larger number of non-Gibsons due to the price disparity. At least that is certainly my situation.

Yeah, that is Rick Derringer rocking on the LP Custom too (I am pretty sure).
