merseybeat1963
Customs shouldnt have to focus on re freakin diculous (did I spell that right?) stuff like this. This government has just been using the excuse of 9/11 to limit/eliminate US Citizens rights. Im glad theres less chance they wont take my guitar now. fortyearspickn
"It is also important to note,” the report states, “that both [the Department of Justice] and [the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service] have issued statements that citizens traveling with their musical instruments are not an enforcement priority.” So, while it is still apparently ILLEGAL, it is comforting to know musicians aren't a priority. So long as we don't start singing protest song again? (Insert sarcasm emoticon)

So, while it is still apparently ILLEGAL, it is comforting to know musicians aren't a priority. I'm a Canadian, hence not a "citizen". I do drive across the border with guitars & basses somewhat frequently. I have a couple instruments with small amounts of BRZ RW - a fingerboard & and a bridge. You think I'm at greater risk than an American?
badbluesplayer
It's been a couple of years since the Feds said that the Lacey act doesn't apply to existing instruments. It never did. I'm going to hurt my neck rolling my eyes like this.
