cody78
Love your Classic they are my favorite Les Pauls as we already discussed. Here is a shot of mine today Im ordering the newest one Friday :) The Trans Ebony one has a Searcy rewind in the bridge, Its the best sounding bridge pickup I ever heard better than a Gibson 498t Duncan JB or a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Thanks. Yours are really nice too. The mods you did to your Classic look great. It reminds me of the LP Slash had for the November Rain video and I think he used it at the American Music Awards 1989 for Patience. Have you done any recordings using the trans ebony one? It would be interesting to hear the sound of that rewound bridge p/up.

capmaster
Nice collection cap. NOTE TO SELF: Must have purple guitar Searching for one I found these links, an old and an actual one each on the same item. The latest one says $2k or best offer: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2011-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Royal-Purple-Quilt-Top-Limited-Run-USA-/300999863720 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2011-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Royal-Purple-Quilt-Top-Limited-Run-USA-/301006523639? The only things not looking stock to me are the pot knobs. They came with golden Top Hats - see here: http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=20170&subCat=51 Said to be a Guitar Center exclusive with just 30 items per colour I still wonder how one of these made it to a small but doubtlessly very reputable dealer here in Germany. Maybe it was a trade-in from one bought in the states? The latest question kept me researching the Limited LP Standard Quilt Top 2011 guitars for a while. It wasn't easy and resulted in the following: They obviously were Guitar Center exclusives in the USA, MSRP $4,799.00, sales price $2,999.99. Only few were officially exported. The quilt tops are rated AAAA. They came with natural sides and backs. Five different stained top finishes were available, listed here including GC archive references: LPSTDQKRPCH1 - RP = Regal Purple > http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=20170&subCat=51 LPSTDQKRBCH1 - RB = Royal Blue > http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=19285 LPSTDQKFOCH1 - FO = Forest Green > http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=20660 LPSTDQKOACH1 - OA = Orange Amber > http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=19354 LPSTDQKBTCH1 - BT = Blue Steel > http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/Guitars/view_listing.cfm?prodId=21318 Three of each with OA, RB, and BT stained tops were imported to UK by GAK. My RP probably also has been officially imported to Germany. Make of bodies is sometimes referred to as chambered, mostly as Modern Weight Relieved. Numbers of items also are not reliable and vary from 30 to 150 per finish. When looking for them, the model codes are of very limited help. Typing the full name including colour, eventually dropping the mysterious "K" and adding 2011, might do the trick. I hope this is of help in locating one if desired. casey_vee
Great set of pickups :) So far so good. The 59 I didn't anticipate that it was a single conductor. Now I don't have coil tap ability on it but I seldom used it anyway. If I roll off, with my rig I get a similar tone anyway.
BobF_
Good detective work, Cap. capmaster
Good detective work, Cap. Now you can feel certain your RP isn't a Chibson Thank you, Bob. Until yesterday I hadn't found any other verification on the web that some of these were officially sold outside the USA, but I felt certain about mine from the start. The dealer is acknowledged for focusing on rare and Special Edition guitars. There also is not a single suspicious sign outside or inside the guitar, paperwork, case, or case candy. casey_vee
Yeah they sell both single conductor and 4 conductor on those. How long you had it you can exchange it for the jazz neck. What did you do with old pickups? I may put them in my G5120 after I put nickel covers on them so they'll look natural in t this guitar. The stock pickups in it are atrocious. No tone, no output. Just awful.

capmaster
:) I was kidding about the Chibson ... I figure you for a pretty savvy guitar buyer  Not really. I think I had some guitars less if I was. On the other hand, the only one I ever parted with was an Ibanez Strat replica in 1982. Otherwise nice, I couldn't stand the useless vintage vibrato just fouling up tuning. I went the Floyd Rose route since then and never looked back. Guest Farnsbarns
Really? Yes, really. Yawn. Not yawning at these lovely people's lovely guitars. That would be almost as rude as trying to turn every conversation back to 2015 models. ;)

Guest Farnsbarns
It was a statement of fact as a point of reference. Like other things of interest in these times, ignoring them or refusing to say their names won't undo their reality. No, you see... You're still doing it. Guest Farnsbarns
What is it you *think* I'm doing? I *think* you are being presumptuous, arrogant and self-righteous on a pointless mission. But I guess my *assumptions* of your intent could be as wrong as yours are of mine. Do you get the point, or do I need to be more direct? Now look, the mods here have made it abundantly clear that they don't want thread hijackers trying to turn every conversation round to whinging about the 2015 model range (not to mention forum rule #7). There is more than one thread dedicated to the subject where you can vent. This thread is explicitly for posting pictures of Les Pauls. I'd suggest you grow up, direct enough?
