Jayla
You guys ought to invite me over to your house to play those guitars -- they're gosh dang beautiful! 'Specially that 1930 L-1, which is simply delicious. Pity no dealers in my area carry the small bodies. Just jumbos and dreads, far as the eye can see... tpbiii
OK, I'll bite. Here are some photos I already have up. They do contain a J or two. 1930s The two on top are a '36 J-35/Trojan and a '37 L-Century. The bottom row, left to right, is 1930 Carson Robison (Kalamazoo KG-11) 1931 L-2 1938 HG-00 conversion 1934? Early Century with an L-C body, a 12-fret neck, and two extra fret markers at 16 and 18 1934 Kalamazoo KG-14 If you are interested on how some of them sound, here are a couple of links to some HD video/audio of the Century's 12-fret Century 14-fret Century 1918 L-1 AND 1926 L-1 1942 LG-1? (still in question) and REALLY SMALL 1937 L-00 3/4 1942 LG-2 and 1937 KGT-14 -Tom

TM
Thanks for the posting the 12 fret Nick Lucas. I tried to buy one of those when they first came out, but no one had one. I had a couple of opportunity after that, but I just didn't do it. I would like to play one. Is it light? Thanks, Terry
pohatu771
1965 LG-0 - bridge replaced, tuners replaced, bridge plate replaced, pins replaced... It still needs two braces done, which I'm putting off until I can either figure out a reliable way to do it myself or have the spare cash to pay someone else to do it. You can see a "do-it-yourself" step-by-step in the album. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v300/pohatu771/Gibson%20LG-0/

jt
Nid, We should finish the book this summer. The manuscript is now at 300 pages and counting. The centerpiece of our book is a series of in-person interviews with a dozen women we tracked down who were in Gibson's 1944 workforce photo! Really cool stuff. We also talked our way into spending three days with the Gibson ledgers. Other features include the FONs from the ledgers and our registry, guitar details from the registry, the war-time documents, and my "project X-ray" in which I've x-rayed and done detailed measurements (and published and article in a radiology technology journal about it) of guitars from 1940 through 1946. All great fun! AFAIK and IMHO, there's never been another book like it. I'll give a talk about the project this summer at the Institute for Popular Music in Liverpool (at the biennial meeting of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music). Pickax
I am completely blown away by some of the collections you folks have. There are so many beautiful Small Bodied Guitars in this thread. I just stepped into the world of Small Bodies this past year. After 30+ years of playing, the L-00 Blues King is the first non dread I've owned. Keep the pictures coming!
