generaldreedle
So I have a j45 custom rosewood and my d28 always seemed to suffer by comparison, but I finally traded it in for an hd28 vts. This thing is beautiful and has the clarity across the board the regular d28 lacked, flatpicking monster.
Smurfbird
Beautiful! I didn't think there was a version of the D28 that didn't shine, but I'm glad you found the best one for your needs. Gibsons tug at my eyes and heart but Martins tug my ears. I grew up with a '58 D28 in the house so I've brought up to believe that a Martin is the sound of an acoustic. You can't go wrong with a great model of either. Poor models need not apply. Congrats!!

blindboygrunt
An hd Martin to sit alongside a Gibson is a great scenario . Both beautiful in their own way but different .

DennisB643
Awesome looking, how's it sound? Perfection...I wanted a D-45 since I saw Neil Young play one back in the early 70s. The only difference between the 45 and the 41 is the amount of inlay and the size of the inlay on the fret board. The inlay on the 41 is just enough.
