Matching Hummingbird for Grey haired geezers

flatbaroque

Recommended Posts

If they're gonna try a model like this, then you gotta use ebony for the board and bridge, fer Pete's sake. And a black guard. Silverburst could be interesting without the reds.

Maybe added to the j45 variations, but on a Hummingbird? Just looks mixed up.

Used to think of these as heavy-rock-band-ballad-guitars, but see what you mean.

May suit certain old people for whom the cherry and vintage orange-burned-brown is too flamboyant. No thanx, not me.

Hey Annes, look here, , , this one from 07 takes the black'n'white all the way to the guard. But is it more like grey-pear burst. .

Yeah, I was thinking the burst looks like it was put on with a paintbrush and not artfully blended and faded like the typical H'Birds' are.

Still - I'd be more inclined to go for that then spend over $8K for that beautiful '62. That guitar deserves a real player, not someone flush with cash.
