Billylovesgibso
I was just curious if the 2019 SG standard as a PCB board or a wire harness ?
Wmachine
http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2019/USA/SG-Standard-2019.aspx I see Gibson has become much more limited with their on-site specifications. No answers there. But they do tell you it is gig bag and not a hard case!
SynapticGroove
I would imagine that it does. That being said, all the PCB is really doing is cleaning up the wiring, holding a few capacitors and landing the pickup wiring harnesses. I wouldn't recommend it, but one could bypass it and essentially wire 'point-to-point', or pot-to-pot, if you will. 😉
Billylovesgibso
I called Gibson and they said the new SG standards do not have PCB boards😊

SteveFord
I did the same thing a few years back and they said oh, no point to point wiring. Guess what? PCB board. You need to get someone who owns one to pull off the control plate and take a look.

So your out 4 pots and 2 caps and some wire. The jack and switch should be there. Edited December 21, 2019 by Sgt. Pepper
sparquelito
Now you made me go ahead and remove the back panels from my three Gibsons. 2018 Les Paul BFG 2016 SG Naked and, 2016 Firebird Zero. Turns out the SG is the only one that has the PCB. I can find no fault with it. The Volume and Tone knobs work great. 🙂
Sgt. Pepper
Isn't is fun when you open something and it is not what you expected?
pauloqs
My 2018 SG Standard 61 had PCB board, which I traded for a Original Collection (2019) SG Standard 61 and that one is hand wired. The reason I traded was not the wiring, but the neck on the original collection felt better to me than the 2018 one. I believe the Modern Collection SG Standard have PCB wiring, but I could be wrong.
