elvendio Posted March 21, 2008 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Mac's are Ok if you don't mind being very limited on what software and hardware you can use. I guess it depends on what you want it for. For video editing I would say a very good pc would be the right choice. For Sound mixing in say Sonar or Cubase then I would go for a PC. For pro tools then you are stuck with a Mac I think. flyingarmadillo Posted March 21, 2008 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Macs are no safer than PC's other than for the fact that <11% of the market goes to Macs so no one writes viruses to run on them. There was a paper that came out last year that showed that the Mac operating system has more security flaws than Windows, again, that Apples knows it's operating system is compromised and that the only reason it's "safer" is that no one is exploiting those vulnerabilities now. And at least one agency (forgot if it's FTC or FCC) is investigating Apple for make false claims in their advertising that Macs are safer. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
