Silenced Fred

Recommended Posts

First, look down the neck (both sides) carefully look for a twist.

Second, find a straight edge no longer than 2 1/2" long and lay it across the frets between the strings and slowly slide it up the neck from the first fret. This will identify inconsistencies in the level of frets.

Just checked it out, neck doesn't seem warped. Frets seem level.

I have no idea what the problem is. I will be bringing it into my guitar teacher soon, because there are no luthiers around me, and I sure as hell don't trust those schmucks at guitar center to touch it [cool]

Are you sure about this? The Seagull website says it does. Look inside the soundhole - it might take a mirror and a flashlite.

I did not see any truss rod cover so I assumed [drool]

Well' date=' you know what that means... [lol

I will just wait to take it to my teacher I guess, but how would I even access this truss rod?

This is off one of my Alvarez but it looks something like this:

A long hex wrench should do it.
