corcoran
Hello guys! I recently received my Junior from eBay and I'm loving it =D. But the thing is I want to keep it in that condition so I'm thinking of getting a hardshell case. Musician's Friend has a hardshell case way cheaper than the Epiphone one. I was wondering if anybody had experience with the MF hardshell case or I should just save up and buy the Epiphone one. I know it's only a slight $30ish difference but I'm low in money so, Thanks guys!

TWANG
I think the musicians gear lp case is still on sale.. and I doubt it's terrible, just not top flight. probably last years and years with simple care.
Lerxst1281733995
I got tweed MF cases for my Tele and for my Jazz bass.. They seem alright.. Not as good as a Fender case, but they're not $180 either.. Sure beats a gig bag...
TWANG
I've got the MF tweed hard bass case, and a couple of their MF bags in tweed and red and blue and so forth. pretty good stuff. the tweed type cases.. square fender ones. are a little loose around the guitar.. you can cut the fake leather ends with a harsh glance.. but they aren't rusting out, or wearing badly at all for me. I'm going Travelite for my lp. lite enough to carry on your back.. tough enough to fly. under a hundred bucks.
BluezOldy
I've bought both Epiphone and Fender hardcases in the last 6 months. I wouldn't buy either of them again as I thought the quality was cheap and they were dearer than 'non-genuine' cases.
Lerxst1281733995
I think Epi cases are adequate.. Definitely worth the $70 or $75.. If I were still in a touring band, I wouldn't have any reservations about using them... Flying with them? No... But they're sturdy enough for stacking in the back of the bus.. I wouldn't take an MF case on the road with me, though.. Those are good for throwing in the back of your car to go to a jam every now and then... Which is all I've been doing lately.. Personally, unless it's a flight case, I don't wanna spend more than $75... $100, tops...

captmidnight
I got one of the MF's cases a while back for My Studio...had read some of the reviews where they said it was a good case just stunk like a fish factory crossed with an out house..lol Mine just had a new smell and seems plenty strong enough for storing and carrying your guitar (minus airline and gigging) and the Les Paul fits nice and snug. Notes_Norton
My first choice in a case (if you can find a fit) is an SKB flight case. My second choice is a Gator flight case. The SKB and GATOR ATA (flight) cases are strong and light. I've purchased both, and I think the SKBs hold up better. Flight cases simply protect your gear better than anything else. Sure they cost a bit more money, but it is worth it. Accidents happen, and I want the best protection I can get for my gear. YMMV. charlie brown
Speaking of Hardshell cases? Does any of you fine folks, know where I could get a new Epiphone "John Lee Hooker" style case. Gibson, has been no help, at all. I have tried the web sites, of most case manufacturer's, and none shows a current version, of that style case. It's like the one that comes with the "John Lennon" Casino's, with the more form fitted head stock area, and.. of course, No "John Lennon" graphic. Anyone???
