Lord Summerisle
It's not really a "collector's piece' date='" because I will never part with it (again), and the body (only) has been refinished/restored...30 years ago, before the "vintage" craze hit!! Believe me, if you'd have seen it, you'd under- stand, the decision to restore it! Everything else, except the rear (plastic plate), which was missing entirely, when I got it back, and the selector switch (it's a 5-way), which I had installed later, is totally original! And, even if I were interested in selling it, the "original case" is history, so the value of even a period correct case, would not really increase the overall value (enought to worry about) since it would not be "the original case," that came with the guitar. Besides, those clowns will figure out the weirdest things, to devalue your guitar, to get the price down...so I've never enjoyed that whole process...even as a casual observer. CB [/quote'] If you're ever in a guitar store one day, and happen upon one of the modern Classic Player's '60s Strats, I'd be fascinated to read your comparison with the 'real deal' you own. generation zero
How's that for a "signature guitar"...actually my dad used to own one of these...! I've always wondered how those are tuned, and how you're supposed to play them...

I lived in LA for 30 years, so would go on the prowel, for guitars, quite often. It was a nice looking, and nice playing guitar. Sounded decent, too....although I never really got to "Crank it Up," to stage volume. But, with Strats, you can easily modify anything you feel the need to, so...I'm sure it would be a decent purchase. I'm often tempted, to get one, just like my original, to "play out" with. Hmmm, you may have re-planted that notion, now?! LOL! CB

ne_buddy
It would be a tough call between the two I have. But I'd keep my Riviera and let go the Gibson SG Classic if there were a law (that couldn't be broken).
SomeIdiotDreamer
That was some neat trick if Woody Guthrie was at the inauguration since Woody died in 1967...I think you saw his son' date=' Arlo, who is sixty one...Woody would be ninety six if he were still alive... pohatu771
I would have to say my Martin acoustic - and a P-90 soundhole pickup, if I could get away with it. But I would transplant the Casino's neck onto the Martin body.

MarxBros
You can still play that after all these years? must be one well-made instrument. I have a1939 Gibosn L50 archtop that plays perfect. The action is better than many modern day electrics. Many guitars over 80 years old are still great players.
