midiman56
"Times are tough and desperate measures are called for. As part of the world-wide redistribution of wealth, all guitarists are hereby entitled to only one instrument." Nonsense, of course, but ... if you were to chose only one guitar to play out with from here on, what would it be? For me, it would have to be a Les Paul. As much as I like the "twang" of a tele or strat or the full rich sound of hollow-body, I just find theLP to be the most versatle and comfortable axe to grind. "Its LOT easier to thin out a Les Paul than it is to fatten up a Fender!" So ... what's your choice, gentlemen? MIDI

SomeIdiotDreamer
I'd keep "Sid" my Ultra II. Since it's the only guitar I own. Not sure I qualify as a guitarist yet though. I know one song and I can't yet play it all the way through.
IntelligentAl
I would have to keep my Les Paul Studio. This is for two reasons: 1) Apart from my Strat copy, it is the only guitar I own! 2) It's AWESOME! Honestly, playing it through my G-DEC, I can get close to just about any sound I want out of it. Sure, it may not be as bright and twangy sounding as a Strat or Tele, but it sure does sound good!

Lord Summerisle
That would be my black Hagstrom Viking. Lovingly crafted on a CNC machine, somewhere near Beijing, in 2008. But the best 335-knock-off I have ever owned.

I don't agree at all about the thin out a Les Paul logic. I've never heard a split humbucker that sounded good...and you just can't get position 2 and 4 tones on anything with 2 humbuckers either! Gotta be a Strat if it's just one!

Notes_Norton
ES-330 or Casino (either one). Why? 1) Love that P90 tone 2) It's also an acoustic - can practice without an amp any time I want 3) Lightweight 4) Touch and go neck Insights and incites by Notes

Big Norm
If we would be allowed for only one guitar...easy choice for me. I would sell all the ones I own and run to buy a new Gibson Les Paul standard 2008...like this one.
JefferySmith
Hmmm...a variation of the old "if you were stranded on a desert island...." Your variation is better, though, since desert islands have no amplifiers. Since this is an Epiphone forum, I'll be politically correct. It all comes down to: Byrdland? Casino? Sheraton? The Sheraton gets the nod.
ladyscaglyc
I'd have to cheat on this one. The White Falcon would have to be the "keeper" but the EPI JP VS would be hiding around the corner. The Strats can be sacrificed (unless I hide them, too.) Decisions, decisions- this is one I hope none of us ever have to make.

That was always on the page of my heavily worn 1960's Gretsch catalog that I didn't bother to view...even the Country Gentleman was more than I thought I could ever afford. I gassed for the Tennessean in those days.
TWANG
It's hard to argue with Lay on this, versatility is a strat hallmark. And given the electronics options, a Les Paul could easily be an equal choice, I think, too. But I can get by with my Blondy. *sheraton* TWANG

Sinb
I would probly have to choose Tthe nes Les Paul with the floyd rose in tobacco sunburst. I would take off the pickguard, maybe lower the action a slight bit, put a set of EMG's 81/85's and then top it off wit a set of Ernie Ball 10's

Yeah, unless you're entirely clueless, "Yoko" is what you name one of those obnoxious little Asian pigs some people keep as pets...the ones that are always rooting through other peoples' garbage, pooping wherever they want and breaking up great bands of the 60's.. Can't/Won't do it! ;>) BUT...if I DID have to do that...my '64 Strat would be the only choice...for sentimental (it was my first electric, purchased for me by my Mom, for my 14th birthday), as well as it's versatility and playability.
