Say? Does that Epi SG have a Gibson Shaped Headstock? What's the story behind that? :-k

I knew a guy with a Japanese Epiphone (not elitist) that had a Gibosn shaped headstock like that - it was one of the not for export models, made only to be sold in Japan. Great sounding guitar.

I'd love to have one of those, I like one-offs, nice-trys, and rare little things like market specific features.

Its pretty sweet G.C. The action was set up real low and I've been able to get some pretty nice tones in both clean and overdriven. I will say this in comparing it with the Gibson Slash GT' date=' the epi doesn't quite measure up in finish, playability and tone but its one heck of a guitar. I love em both!

Made in Japan (final production run 2006) for their domestic market. Several of us, here, got them last fall from a seller

in Japan, on E-bay. It's a Great guitar! Gibson headstock, correct beveling and Nitro finish, as well.

"Elitist" quality...certainly as good. But then, they were made in the same factory, so...

That Moderne looks pretty cool djrmusic777.

Kind of reminds me of those Randy Rhodes Jackson V's.

Yeah you know I don't know why the Moderne never took off? It was designed in 1958 at basically the same time as the V and Explorer but it seems that people either hate them or love them... there's not a whole lot of in-between opinions.

I love that guitar. I've wanted once since I first saw a drawing of one back in the 70s. I got this one about 3 years before Mars Music went out of business. It was the last one they had and it was marked down and I had a 30% off mail coupon. I think I paid $236.00

Alright CB here are a couple of pictures of my Epiphones. The first one was taken in the media room of my house when I first moved in.

Moving left to right we have an Elitist Tak Matsumoto Les Paul, Elitist Casino, Elitist Sheraton, Elitist Les Paul Standard Plus, Elitist Broadway and an Elitist Brydland.

Hi Guitar Chico, thank you, I still can't believe that the Elitist's have been discontinued. They offered a taste of the upper echelon guitars at an easier price tag. Sometimes I think I should grab one of each model for a complete collection of all the Elitist's.

I still can't believe it either. Well at least the casino elitist is still around but I wish that they would've kept the rest of them.

Yeah, thankfully the Casino is still around! I don't play her enough but whenever I do I am always blown away by her sound and feel! I would love to add a Gibson ES330 to my collection as well but right now I'm on a buying break. March will make a full year for me! No guitars or amps for a whole year! GASP!
