winterland
On my solid bodies I have always used light strings - 9-42, 9-46. I tried the light strings when I first picked up my DOT, but they didn't feel right on that guitar ... so I went up to a heavier gauge. Right now I am using 10-49, but have gone up to 11-50. The only thing that I haven't changed up is the brand ... D'Addarios for all my guitars. Just curious to see what everyone else is using for the semi-hollows - particularly if you are using a lighter or heavier gauge than you would on a solid body. charlie brown
Gibby's and Epi's are 10-49 (Generally) round wounds. (D'Addario or Elixir) My Gretsch guitars all have 11 to 50-52's (Pyramid or D'Addario) My Rickenbackers (12-string's) have 10's (Rickenbacker or D'Addario) My Rickenbacker 6-string (320 "Miami") has 11's (Pyramid Flat wounds...when I can find them). All my "solid body" guitars, (Gibby & Fender) have 10's...usually D'Addario, but sometimes Elixir's. CB

Guest
Lucy gets strunged with this most of the time2504LTHB (010-052) also have tryed this set 2507MTHB (011-052 with wound G) and the (expensive) Gibson BB King signature strings Peter Hi Peter I was using D'addario 11-14-18-30-42-52 Medium Top/Heavy Bottom on my Joe Pass and I really liked them My new pickups and harness will be here in te next week and I am having my Sheraton fitted and set up by a Luthier in Stockholm, I will have a new bone nut cut for a set of DR Pure Blues Big-n-Heavy 10-13-17-30-44-52. They seem to be very close to what you have on your Lucille....

TP
On my Casino, I started with 10's but quickly moved to 11's with a wound 3rd (G) string. Since I am mostly an acoustic player who plays 12 -54 Elxirs on all 3 acoustics I have, I have no problem bending 11's as some would and I like the wound G as it just seems to sound better on the hollow body. I am seriously considering moving up to 12's and recently found a place that will sell me a set of D'Addario's in 12's with a wound G as soon as they are back in stock. On my Solid body I still seem to like the 10's but may have to give 11's a shot one of these days.
peeper
12's or 13's, depends on the tuning to be used. And DR all day baby.
teegar
On the Sheraton and the Casino, D'Addario half rounds, 11-14-18-28-38-49. On the Heritage full hollow body, Thomastik-Infeld Bebop, 13-53. Always a wound G. 12's are a good compromise if you like the meat of heavier gauge.
