Tman
I used to play in bands in the 70's and 80's and went to Arkansas over the weekend to play at a friend's 50th birthday party (and to see my Mom). The band was made up of three of the guys from the band from the 70s and 1 guy from the band I played with in the 80s and his brother whom I've only recently met. We got together once last year. What a thrill playing again was. I highly recommend it. It's a real rush (sorry to bring that term back). 200+ people showed up. Costume party..guess whom my wife and I went as?: Playing my LP with my sister dancing away - eventually the place was too hot to wear the wig: as soon as videos are finished, I'll post if any interest. Cheers, Tman

Californiaman
Good for you Tman! That's great. It must have been a wonderful experience playing with your old mates.
cookieman15061
Definitely post the vids! I've got a couple from the 80s but I have no idea how to edit them down and post them. I enjoy watching members gig.
Tman
Thanks guys! Guitarest, as you said, big rush. I too delayed playing while my kids grew. Now that I'm back in it, it's become an obsession. We rocked for over 2 hours and I just remember playing Dirty Deeds and the audience screaming louder than we were "Done Dirt Cheap!" Totally fun. FirstMeasure
Very Cool! What's that natural wood thang you're playing there? Koa?
Kimbabig
Sounds like you had fun, I'd like a band, but I am far from gig ready
Tman
Very Cool! What's that natural wood thang you're playing there? Koa? They're both Zebrawood. The Strat is quartersawn and I'm pretty sure the LP is flatsawn (like the shirt! ). I've gone crazy for zebrawood guitars for some reason. Kimbabig - go for it. One of the coolest things ever - no kidding.
MrNylon
Gee, you guys look sooo old. JUST KIDDING. It's great. It's a rush and a half. I was able to do an informal jam with three out of four former members once.

We open the second set with that tune... That's one of our 4th set closers. We alternate between that and Rage, "Killing in the Name of".
Tman
Here was our set list: SET ONE Brown Sugar Honky Tonk Women Learn To Fly I Saw Her Standing There Birthday Doctor, Doctor (Bad Case of Loving You) Come Together Heaven Pride (In The Name of Love) How Long Somebody's Baby Josie Roxanne Ain't That a Shame? -------------------- SET TWO Enemy Should I Stay or Should I Go? Rock and Roll Vertigo Hey, Baby Stay With Me Rocky Mountain Way Jungle Love Some Kind of Wonderful Hey Jude -------------------- FINALE Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Twist and Shout Message In a Bottle Word Up Brown Sugar and Honky Tonk were both played on a Tele tuned to DGDGBG. Heaven was the Los Lonely Boys song. Yes, there was some pop in there in some of the songs. Our singers were amazing and handled it all - including Zepplin, Sting and Bono. I'll show you guys the videos when they come (so you can tell me whether I'm full of it or not - I thought they were great). I had my talk box there for RMW. Our other git player is a videographer and it may take a bit to get it mixed, etc. Just can't tell you how much fun it was - did I mention that?
