chase1410
I finally got my new thunderhorse Explorer...When I first got it, it was freezing, so I waited a couple hours to open the case...When I finally opened it a couple hours later, Everything looked great except the pickguard...it had these really deep scratches on it, as well as plenty of smaller scratches...and there was no saran wrap over the pick guard,,witch I thought was odd, ,but I knew that this was brand new from the factory...other then that the body was in perfect shape and looked beautiful..I was checking out the fretboard, and I saw a brown stripe at the end of the fretboard..is that normal for Ebony? Also after I played, my hands seemed to leave stains on the finger board...I always wash my hands before playing, but figured that since the wood is so dark, it'll show sweat..The guitar is beautifully set up and sounded great..witch is what its all about....the pickguard can be replaced so I'm not worried about that. Sounds awesome so far...really diggin the pups and the sound thats generated from this beast.

Dub-T-123
Nice! That binding makes such a difference. It looks way classier than a regular explorer. I think a b/w/b/w/b pickguard would look better anyways...

BigKahune
Very cool. Congrats That's odd about the pickguard scratches, but if you were going to replace the PG anyway - no worries.
Lungimsam
How's it look without the pickguard, being a burst and all?
retrosurfer1959
Contact Gibson customer service about the pick guard I purchased a LP a while back and the plastic on the back of the guitar over both the pots and the switch were in pretty bad shape with scratches and a couple of pretty good gouges. Another time I had a TRC that had a really obvious thumbprint of super glue or something else that had etched into the TRC. I contacted Gibson customer service on both occasions and both times and they sent replacements no questions asked and no cost.
