Duende
Man I have had the blues lately!! I am falling more and more in love with the Blues Junior; it is a modern wonder Truth be told, I am playing with the guy in the clip tonight at the same venue. We play maybe 6 to 8 gigs a year and it is a great let my hair down opportunity from my classical guitar recitals. Not that I don't let myself give it my all on the Spanish guitar, but this is more informal and I drink beer while I play and also don't rehearse LMAO Improvised solo for Before You Accuse Me Take A Look At Yourself - Ellas McDaniel (Gibson SG Platinum) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFI-LX27Oqk&feature=player_embedded#at=33 reloaded this too from last year... My own piece (mainly improvised) - The England World Cup Blues (Gretsch 6120 Hot Rod) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYuEviUB7SI&feature=channel_video_title

cookieman15061
Play it brother!! Love the Gretsch. I had to sell mine in January to pay off some of my wife's hospital bills but someday I'll get another. Wait I think I feel the blues coming on.........lol. Great job as always. Californiaman
Matt, you are such a gifted player. True story about my friend and his new search for a Blues Jr. The guy has a Fender Hot Rod Deville. He ends up at an open night jam in Florida playing the Epiphone Casino he brought with him from California. They've got a Blues Jr. there for him to plug into. He plays through it with the P-90s and can't believe the tone he's getting. Now he's looking all over the Lake Tahoe area for one.
Duende
Good stuff, Matt. I really liked the second video: Great playing, awesome tone! Cheers Play it brother!! Love the Gretsch. I had to sell mine in January to pay off some of my wife's hospital bills but someday I'll get another. I am sorry to hear about that Cookie ): I have three electric guitar favourites; the Gretsch, my Gibson M3 Deluxe and my beloved 83 JV series Strat. I went out to buy a second hand Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean but came back with the Gretsch. The cleans are just lovely! A am having a psychic feeling a Grestch will cross Cookie's path again! I used it again last night in a small function room; I didn't get above 3 on the volume LOL. I think we should do a Blues Junior appreciation thread here! Duende
Good stuff. You should let your hair down more often. Cheers R9 I do love playing blues and gypsy jazz to do just that! Let my hair down, although it is so close to skin head now there isn't nay to let down! . Great stuff Matt. Really nice blues tones you're getting from the Junior. I really like your "The England World Cup Blues". Nice title, killer jam. B) It was real sadness and agony I played that night! England played so flat and uninspired - it still hurts ): I love the Grestch paired with the Blues Junior. Another 'junior' amp I love is the Epiphone Valve junior. Strangely it works very well as an acoustic amp! That Epi Valve junior is a special baby also .You are truly a gifted perfomer, sir. And you are very humble and kind to listen to other people's music and give support!. As I write the forum is looking good; loads of music related threads and clips. Clips, clips!! We need more clips . It is great fun learning from one another and I love logging in and hearing people's playing. I will go mad if there are too many pictures of guitars and amps...lets the hear the ****ers ;) Matt
57classic
Matt, great to see/hear another side of your talents. Loved the playing and the tone was fantastic. Only 3 on the volume? A friend used to have a Blues Jr. and I couldn't get any grind without a tube screamer.

A friend used to have a Blues Jr. and I couldn't get any grind without a tube screamer. The master was on 3 but for the dirty sound on the second clip I have a Boss MD2 with the gain on about 2! Off topic for blues but VERY strangely I cranked the pedal up full and messed around the settings on the Blues Jnr (I can't bring myself ever to write 'BJ' LOL) and the tone was Metallica Master of Puppets territory!! I am going to add some to Todd's thread soon! Matt
