There aren't many women who are made ugly by their manners, despite their natural good looks they appear truly ugly. Sarah's loud and brash persona and continual silly comments (and bad geography) make Margaret Thatcher more attractive msp_biggrin.gif

Matthew, I suspect you're basing your opinion on how she's portrayed in the media. If anyone got the scrutiny she gets, they would appear stupid/brash/ignorant/shifty/slimy, (take your pick).

The left here has been using this ploy for decades. IKE was lazy and not too bright, Nixon was a crook, Ford couldn't even walk, Reagan had Alzheimers, Bush I was out of touch, Bush 2 couldn't make a complete sentence.

However, Kennedy was the single best hope of the country, Johnson was the best legislator the country ever had, Carter was a nuclear scientist, Clinton was a Rhode's Scholar & Obama is so smart the dumb electorate can't even understand him.

When in reality, they're all smart, they all made huge mistakes, and they're all lying bastards.

I do have empathy for people in the glare of the media, but even so there are plenty of people who receive non stop scrutiny and manage not to be so annoying! My view isn't a political one, but based purely on her as a public figure and the personality she exudes. I think she would be the kiss of death (and intellectual suicide) for anything she touches, she is though, for all the wrong reasons, VERY funny!! msp_biggrin.gif

By the way off topic but LOVING the new series with Greg Kinnear as Kennedy! It is superbly acted and the production is just excellent!

I guess that's why we have several different political parties in the US....to each their own..... I just think about how Quale was excoriated for adding an "e" to the end of potato, but Obama was never called out of saying there were 57 states.

[confused] [confused] Not sure what Parliamentary utopia you are living in, but here in the States we have a two party system: tweedle dumb & tweedle dumber.

it is my fault! But the thread is turning down political highway...not a good one turn off to make!

I wasn't commenting politically, as I am from the UK, but judging her on how she comes across; anyway I shouldn't have done that so sorry and back to lovely lady talk.

Really? Ever heard of the Socialist party? One of our senators is a member... how 'bout the Libertarian?

Green?

Tea?

Communist?

And several more.... they're right there on the ballots if you ever read one.

True, but how much of a national stage do they have compared to tweedle dumb and dumber? They are frequently shut out of debates because the two parties in power and their financial backers are fill-their-shorts scared of a real challenge.

btw the Tea Party is not a true political party. It is a movement. If they were a party they would run under that name and not Republican.

And several more.... they're right there on the ballots if you ever read one.

I am well aware since they usually get my vote.
